My eyes slowly peeked at the light shining into my face as a familiar voice whispered "<your name> wake up". I let out a grumble and stuffed my face into my pillow. " there's pancakes, eggs, and bacon waiting for you downstairs" it continued " you need to be ready by 7:00" I sighed and found myself saying
"Ok ma" I waited to hear her footsteps drown into the middle floor of our house. Finally I lifted myself up. The faint smell of breakfast drifted into my room, and woke me up completely. I stumbled out of bed to my dresser, got some clothes, changed, brushed my teeth, and went down the stairs. Mom pointed at the counter which had a plate piled with the most delicious breakfast ever. I quickly comped down all my food and grabbed my backpack. "I'm ready for school" I said.
"Ok well then let's go" mom said, twirling the car keys in her hand. We both went around the backyard and jumped into the car. The car ride was about ten minutes. As I got out of the car my mom said "have fun and make friends, love you" and blew a kiss. I shyly walked through the crowded front doors and made my way down the halls. "Locker 122 Locker 122" I mumbled to myself. I scanned all the lockers but couldn't see mine.
"Excuse me ma'am" I heard a deep voice say behind me as I felt a gentle touch on the shoulder. "I couldn't help but notice this is the third time you've walked down this hall in the past few minutes, do you need something?" I turned around and saw a tall, handsome man with black hair and bright blue eyes. I caught myself staining and snapped back. "U-uh yeah I w-was looking for my locker" why am I stuttering? I thought
"What's the number" he said calmly
"122" I said trying not to blush.
"Go down the hall, take a left, a right, and another right. There should be a language class room. It should be the first one closest to the door."
I was jaw dropped by how quickly he responded. "O-oh thank you-"
"Donovan" he interrupted
"What?"
"My name is Donovan"
"Thank you Donovan" I said, and rushed down the halls before the bell rang. All through science I couldn't get the image of Donovan out of my head. It was like he hopped into my mind and wouldn't get out. I pushed through the crowds of people to my next class, social studies. I looked at the screen and saw a seating chart. I found my seat and patiently waited for class to start. As I was waiting I got bored and started to sketch a little. In the corner of my eye I saw a boy sit next to me I looked up at the screen and saw the name Grayson neatly printed next to my name. I looked over to him and saw he was staring at my sketchbook. He was kinda pretty and had almost silvery hair as well as a huge smile as he examined my drawing of a dog. He must have felt me looking at him because his smile faded as his eyes met mine. His face flooded with fear "sorry" he burst out. He looked back at his desk before I could say anything.
"Hello students" a loud voice burst out, causing me to nearly jump out of my seat. "You all know my name, now let's get to the syllabus already." The rest of the class I felt Grayson glancing at me.
Nothing happened during language and math but more syllabuses. At the end of the day I went to my locker and put my stuff away. "I see you found your locker" a familiar deep voice echoed behind me. I froze out of fear. "I never caught your name by the way" it said as they came into my vision.
"Oh my gosh you scared the crap out of me Donovan" I said on accident
"I'm sorry about that ma'am" he said calmly
"Call me <your name>"
"<your name>?"
"Yeah my stupid parents gave it to me"
"No no, I just thought it was really pretty." I couldn't say anything. He caught me too off guard. After an awkward silence I finally said " I'm a car rider, I should probably go"
"Oh I am too, wanna walk together?"
"Oh uh sure" we made our way down the hall to the front of the school, and waited for our cars. I watched as my mom pulled up. "Oh! That's my mom, bye"
"Bye miss <your name>"
I jumped into the car. I could feel my mom giving me a look. "Don't say I-"
"<your name>'s got a boyfriend" she burst out.
"No I don't, just drive" When we got home I went straight to my room. I took the rest of the day to finish the sketch of the dog I was drawing in social studies. I fell asleep around 12:00 am.
