She wiggled her fingers to see if she still had movement in them before she looked up hazily. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head before she forced her eyes to look straight. An unsettling but familiar feeling fell into her stomach and it rose into her throat. She sat up quickly and threw up onto the floor.

Everybody gasped and stepped back. Scarlett's eyes welled with tears as she heaved it out before placing a hand on her belly. She let out a soft cry from the pain.

"I'm sorry." She muttered out. Magnus snapped his fingers and the blue magic appeared from his hands as he moved them in a way that only he would do. The throw up slowly disappeared and Scarlett sighed softly.

"You said you knew where Jace was before you passed out. Where is he?" Alec asked softly as he sat beside her and rubbed her back soothingly. Scarlett inhaled deeply before telling them what happened.

"You guys better hurry. You have a five minute window to get in, get him and get out. Don't forget what I said Clary. The hellhounds are relentless." Scarlett spoke to the redhead who's eyes widened and she took a small step back.

"Okay. Scar, I'm going to call Simon. He's going to be here with you while we go and get him." Alec informed the blonde who merely smiled and stood up.

"I'm going for a shower. Go and get ready." Scarlett shooed everyone out of her room as she went and showered. She was in there for a good twenty minutes before finally coming out and brushing her teeth and putting on a grey tee shirt and leggings that shockingly fit over her bump.

Her hair was still damp as she came out and placed a hand on her stomach. "You hungry little man? Cause I know I am." Scarlett spoke to Xavier. She liked the name before she ever got pregnant and she knew in her dream that one day that she was naming her baby boy Xavier. Scarlett would talk to Jace about it once he was finally home safe.

Scarlett ventured out of her room and around the institute until she reached the kitchen. She sighed in content as she pulled open the freezer and tugged out the ice cream. She then went and grabbed the frozen fries.

She laid them out on a baking pan and put it in the preheated oven and scooped out some ice cream with a spoon and ate it from the tub.

"Fries and ice cream?" Simon's voice scared Scarlett as nearly chucked the spoon at him.

"By the angel!" Scarlett helped before setting the ice cream down and spoon. "Hi Simon." She mumbled with a smile before walking up to him and hugging him. Simon hugged back and pulled away.

"How are you?" He asked, smiling happily. His fangs poked through on his eye teeth and it made him look adorable.

"I'm holding up. I miss Jace. A lot." Scarlett muttered as she chewed on the inside of her cheek. Her and Simon had gotten awfully close as friends since he found out about her being pregnant. They chatted like two life long friends, he went and got whatever she was craving. She came to visit him and only him and he went and visited her.

They had become best friends and in the beginning she couldn't even remember his name.

"Of course. It's understandable. He'll be back. Don't worry." Simon comforted her while rubbing her bicep soothingly.

"I always worry. It's what I do. And I'm scared of what he'll do about this. If he even wanted to be a dad so soon or if at all. If he still loves me. I'm just scared." Scarlett admitted. She looked almost defeated and her tone got desperate at the end.

"He loves you. I see in it his eyes Scar. It's a look of pure love. That and whenever he sees you I hear his heartbeat increase and he always smiles." Simon said while plucking the tub of ice cream off the counter and pressing it into her palm.
