I walked home, slowly, the scene I just witnessed replaying in my head.
I sighed heavily, bringing out my phone and earpiece.
Music always has a way of calming my nerves.
I turned it on and was about to play The loudest silence by Maurice moore when I received a text from my mom.
"Hey Tash, we need you to get home real soon, we have something important to tell you", I read aloud.
We? Who's we? And what's so important 'they' want to tell me? , I thought as I walked home.

As I approached my front yard, I felt my heart beat getting faster, I didn't know what to expect. I walked slowly to the door and carefully unlocked it, I heard my mom and a man discussing in the kitchen. I tiptoed into the house, to eavesdrop on their conversation .
CRASH!!!!! The lamp cried as it shattered on the floor.
" Who's there?", I heard my mom ask, somewhat scared.
Oh no, I had mistakenly used my heavy backpack to push the poor furniture. My mom and the man emerged from the kitchen, the man's eyes on mine and my mom's eyes fixed on the broken glass on the floor.
I was confused, what was Mr Hart, my teacher doing here? Did he come to report me to my mom?
"Mom?* I called out, my eyes still fixed on him." What's going on?"
"Tasha, baby, what did I teach you about courtesy? Say hello to your dad first, then we can talk"
Uhmm, did i just hear dad or mad or sad or bad ? I tried to fit in each word into the sentence mom said in place of dad but they all didn't make sense. She really said dad, he's my dad??!! My fucking teacher, Mr Hart is my fucking dad??????????
I looked from my mother to my supposed father, they both looked at me with eager eyes. My dad looked confused and shocked too, because he didn't know that the girl he detained at school today was his precious little baby, I suppose.
I didn't know when I started running up to my room, I couldn't face either of them. Was my mum serious? She decided to bring my dad who had left us over twelve years ago here without a word of warning to me.
"Say hello to your dad first" I mimicked her and scoffed, opening and banging my room door loud enough for them to hear.
I sat on my bed with both legs crossed, yoga style. I had no best friend, fuck it, i had no friends. I didn't know who to call but I really needed someone to talk to, then I thought of Jace. I reached out to my backpack, grabbed my phone and was about to dial him when I remembered how he laughed at me in school. I tossed the phone beside me and placed my chin on my hands.
I'm such a loser.
