A/N: Here you go, my adoring fans. Have fun!

I slam my hand down onto the snooze button. Pulling my face off a pillow, I squint at the time, then drop my head and burrow into my covers again. It was only 6:30. Way too early to wake up in summer. I felt like punching my past self for setting the alarm the night before. A few minutes of tired thoughts passed through my head before my eyes slowly closed and I drifted back to sleep.
"Jessica! Jess! JESSICA!" I'm jolted awake by the sound of my mother screaming in my ear. I groan trying to curl up on my bed again, but my mother pulled the blankets off of me.
"Hurry up! You're late for school! We have to go, now!"
I stare at her, uncomprehending, until it dawns on me why I had set my alarm so early. It was my first day of high school, and I had already doomed myself to a bad impression. I jump out of bed, shoving on some clothes and tying my long brown hair into a messy bun. I never wear any makeup, so that was one less thing I had to do. I burst out of my bedroom, taking the stairs two at a time down to the kitchen, where I grab a breakfast bar and a yoghurt container.
"Are you done yet? Good, now get in the car."
My mother hands me an already packed satchel and pushes my door closed. My new high school is only a few blocks away, right next to my mom's workplace. She's a secretary for the optometrist that works across the street from Greenacre High School.
By the time we arrive, the schoolyard is deserted. My mother decides to walk me inside, to make sure I don't get in trouble for being late.
The school looks huge on the outside, but it is actually tiny. The office is so small, there were no chairs. All the ffice ladies had to stand or lean against the wall. The younger office aids could kneel to type on the computers, but all of the older women, who looked like they could be my grandmother, had to stand and squint down at the moniters. It takes a second for one of the secretaries to notice my mother and I standing in the doorway. We had decided not to go in, as it was already crowded with people.
"Can I help you, dearies," A lady in a pink cardigan and horn rimmed glasses asks us.
"Yes, hello. I was just checking my daughter in to school. We had a bit of a late start this morning." Mom gives me a small glare out of the corner of her eye.
"Not to worry. All freshmen- and women," the lady, who I had decided to call Pinky, added hastily, " are given a free period first hour on the first day of school. She isn't the first to sleep in alittle. What is your name, sweetie?'
"Jessica Graham," my mother says before I can even open my mouth. Pinky hummed a bit under her breath as she fingered through a filing cabinet. She lifted a manila folder out and shifted around the papers inside until she pulled out a slip of paper.
"And here is your schedule, child. Your locker number and combination are also printed on the paper. Just make sure you aren't late to any of your classes." She gave me a wry smile.
"Thank you Pin- Ma'am," I stuttered. I turned and fled down a hallway with my new items, before my mom could reprimand me or embarass me with lovey-dovey gestures. I hoped that I could not make any more mistakes.
A/N: This chapter would have been a lot longer, but I decided to just make another chapter. Don't wanna bore you guys to death.
Peace out, puny humans!
