After Mavis and Walter came back, I left the store. I went down the street and went into Kaffine, a small coffee shop in the center of London, and ordered a small coffee and a grilled halloumi sandwich for dinner to bring home. I plugged my ear buds into my phone and  shoved them into my ears. Since I was in the middle of busy London, I turned my  phones volume up to its highest setting.

With my sandwich in a bag in hand along with the coffee in the other, I strolled past tiny shops. The keys of a piano sounded in my ears as Lean on me by Bill Withers came on. I was near my building when a man with a camera pointed at him came running out of the football pitch. He accidentally plowed me over causing me to drop the coffee and the bagged sandwich. The sandwich was okay thankfully but I was now covered in the now, thankfully, cooled coffee.

I looked up and saw his lips moving and quickly ripped the ear buds from my ears. "-God, I'm so sorry"

"It's fine" I spoke quietly. I looked up and saw an outstretched hand from the man. I grabbed his hand and he pulled me up. As I found my balance I finally looked up at him. His eyes were bright blue while his hair was dyed silver. He was wearing a football kit with the letters SDMN on the breastplate of the shirt.

"Can I buy you another coffee?" He looked at me with eyes of sorrow, like he had just killed a dog. I giggled a bit and just shook my head. "No, it's fine. It was almost gone anyways."

I heard rustling behind him and turned around to see four other guys. They were all wearing the same kit, so I assumed they were on some sort of team.

"You have to let me pay you back somehow," the man was now at my side.

That's when I did something that would never happen normally. I was so shy but this came straight out of my mouth without thinking. I gathered the courage and blurted the words "How about your number?"

I smiled up at him and he broke into a smile after seeing him nod his head. He held out his hand for a handshake. "Hi, my name's Simon."

"My name's Amanda but people call me Faye" I was about to take his hand then saw that I had a scrape from the concrete and my hand was bleeding a bit. Simon saw me looking down then looked at my hand.

"Jesus, I feel bad."

"It's fine. We can shake hands when we meet up again sometime" He smiled when I said again. I grabbed my phone from my back pocket and unplugged the cord to my headphones. I draped the ear buds around my neck and handed him my phone.  I unlocked it and went to create a new contact. He entered his information in and handed it back to me. I sent a "hi" so he'd have my number aswell.

I said goodbye after talking for another five minutes and started to walk up to my building.  I looked behind me to see him running to his friends and showing them his phone. I blushed and entered the building. I looked at Michael (by the way, Michael is like a sixty year old man okey okey)  and he was smirking like he saw the entire thing. I turned even more pink and jogged to the elevator and punched the nine button as quickly as I could.

I entered my flat and looked around for Brutus and saw him dead asleep on the couch, his ears flopped to either side of his head. I just shook my head with a smile and set all of my things on the counter. I walked into the bathroom and cleaned up my right hand. When I turned the water off I saw Brutus jump off the couch and walk his way to the bathroom. I got down on my knees and pet him.

I walked back to the kitchen and put my sandwich on a plate and grabbed a small bag of crisps from the shelves built into the wall. I walked to my window seat that overlooked the football pitch that Simon and his friends were playing at. I grabbed a book and blanket, along with my dinner, and got comfortable.

------------

It had been two hours since I started reading so I decided to stand up and start tidying. I went to the counter and cleared it off then found that I had a text from Simon. All it said was "hey."

I smiled at my phone, sent a text saying "Hey, how're you doing?" then continued to clean while humming to different songs.

In the middle of Eleanor Rigby by the beatles I heard my phone go off. It was a text from Simon. "I'm great, how's your hand doing? I still feel bad" I chuckled and sent back a text just explaining what I was doing and that my hand was fine.

That night, Simon and I talked for two and a half hours. By the time we stopped talking it was almost three A.M. We planned for a day to meet up, that day being Friday. I went to bed that night with a huge smile on my face and an exhasted dog at my side.
