The mirror turned an ill shade of amethyst, and the surface swirled inward, making Honnas stomach curl. Honna jumped away from the mirror, and watched in horror as the event unfolded. The papers off her desk fluttered around her room, her necklace yanking towards the swirling surface. The chain dug into the flesh on her neck, and she cried out in pain. She staggered towards the mirror, and dodged as her desk chair flew past her into the mirror, disappearing from sight.

Her hair whipped wildly, slapping her In the face repeatedly. She pushed herself to her feet, and stumbled forward to the mirror, staring into the shimmering, glossy puddle of purple. It looked as if it contained crushed diamonds. She reached forward with her hand, and watched her fingertips disappear. Against instinct, she leapt forward through the mirror, and crashed onto the ground on the other side.

Daniel was concetrating hard, beads of sweat forming on his temple, his dark hair plastered against his forehead. His master beside him was not nearly as exerted. In fact, the old man with a wispy sandy beard looked barely bothered. Daniel couldn't help but feel the least bit jealous. His shoulders were giving way. " Stay stable Boy, the summoning is almost over with." Daniel nodded, he could hold out for a while longer.

The rift widened, parchment fluttering through the rift itself. Following that a chair of weird material. It nearly hitting Daniel before he ducked, the chair grazing his hair. "Its taking a while? Is it not, Sir?" Daniel asked skeptically. His master did not turn to look him in the eye. "You know the summonings take a while, do you not, Boy?" He muttered coldly. Daniel turned his concentration back to the rift.

Thin fingertips appeared out of the rift. Daniel felt a sense of pride and relief wash over him. He had successfully summoned his first human, however, his master was not as pleased. He could hear his whispered tones. "This isn't him." Daniel watched intently, the fingers seemed much too delicate to be a males.

And that's when the girl stepped through, landing hard onto the wooden planked floor. Her fiery red hair, that of a sunset, fluttered around her, and shielded her face. Her breathing was hard, her body shuddering with every breath.

The swirling rift behind her snapped shut as his master stood, and walked over to the counter on the far wall. "Would you bring her to a cot, Daniel?" The mage asked over his shoulder. He was searching through a few leatherbound journals on a shelf, with an exasperated tone. Daniel quickly stood, and strolled over to the girl.

She cradled her head in her hands. Her body shook with her heavy breathing, and blood trickled down her the back of her neck, where sweat gathered. Pathetic, Daniel chided to himself. He sunk to his knees and reached out his hand.

" Might I be of help?" Daniel gibed. The girl turned her head, her hair draping over her face like a red curtain. " Who are you?" She demanded, her voice shaking as her body heaved. "I believe I am the one to ask you that very thing." In an instant the girl kneed Daniel in the stomach. He curled back in pain a scoff of air leaving his lungs.

If she wasn't a lady, no, that wasn't a word to describe her, a girl, he would've reacted differently.

"Where am I?" She questioned again in her cold tone. Daniels master passed a scroll to her, one Daniel recognized as a map of the country. "You are in the country of Diamedes." She gripped the map, her hands shaking and her knuckles turning white. "How did I get here?" She spat out angrily. Daniels master pointed to the mirror sitting in the corner of the room. The girls eyes widened in surprise as her brows furrowed, a look of frustration crossing her face.

"Where'd you get that mirror?" She turned to Daniels master, grabbing his shirt collar. Daniel lunged forward, pulling the girls arm from his master, and pulling her against his chest. She kicked back defensively, attempting to pry free. "It's quite alright Daniel, she's entirely confused, she is in another realm after all."

"What do you mean another realm?" she yelped, clawing at Daniel's arms and pushing him away. Her breath was ragged, obviously worn from the interrogation. " The mirror, you know of it?" Daniels master eyed the girl down. She nodded slowly, her gaze darting to the mirrors cool surface.

"Please sit down, Miss-..?"

" Honna." She muttered, stiffening her legs, forcing herself into a standing position. "Miss Honna. I have quite a bit to explain."
