"Kim Jongin, stop being so stubborn."
He absolutely hated photo shoots with this company. They used the wrong product in his hair, insisted on capturing his bad side, and gave him uncomfortable clothes to wear. It was completely and utterly annoying in his opinion, and he wanted to sprint through the door to be out of their reach. "Kai, it's just one more photo." Kyungsoo sighed. "If they want me to stay, I'll give the orders." Jongin snapped, tugging at the ends of his sleeves to pull them down.
Chanyeol huffed and pushed Jongin away, letting him stumble over a camera wire and crash into one of the staff. "Yah!" Jongin yelled rudely, glaring at him. "Come back to the studio when you stop being so obnoxious," Chanyeol growled. "Whatever." Kai grumbled, messing up his own hair and walking out the door. Nobody chased after him because it was agreed that this whole situation would function better without him.
He headed towards his apartment in Seoul by catching a taxi and paying the driver to stop 2 blocks away. But the greedy driver accepted his money and kicked Kai out of the cab 7 streets down. He was sitting on the curb, agitated at how terrible this whole day resulted as. "Aish!" he yelled, kicking a pebble away and standing up. Being seen in public was the least of his worries at the moment because all that concerned him was getting home. He sulked down the street and spotted a supermarket, now realizing his hunger.
Kai walked inside and found a petite coffee shop close to the entrance. "One cappuccino, please." he mumbled, digging into his back pocket for his wallet. He slapped money onto the counter, not bothering to count it but knowing it was too much, and left without a word. Kai pulled out his phone and checked if there were any missed calls from the members, but there weren't any. "They're so ignora -"
His right shoulder collided with somebody else's, causing his drink to tip and pour its warm contents onto the sweater that the photo shoot company gave him, which he despised. "Watch where you're going," he snarled, moving farther away from the person. It was a female; a female that perfectly matched his ideal type, he realized. Long hair, slim body, stylish, and 100% for him. She gave him a careless and unimpressed apology, which only made Kai even more attracted. He was also fascinated in her since she didn't freak out about encountering the almighty Kim Jongin of EXO. Does she live under a rock or something?
"What are you doing here at 5:26 in the morning?" he asked curiously, suddenly becoming interested. She rolled her eyes. "And why would that your business?" she snapped. "You spilled my coffee on my new jacket carelessly, so I deserve to know."
"I'm sorry that I knocked over your coffee. But I'm just here to get a last minute gift for an ungrateful and narcissistic drama queen." She let out a long sigh and rubbed her eyes. "Sibling?" Kai asked. "Yeah, my sister. How'd you know?" she replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Same situation. My sister also happens to be ungrateful, narcissistic, and melodramatic." he pouted. awkwardly shoving his hand in the pocket of his jeans. "Well, okay...I hope that we never have to cross paths again." she grinned. "Can I at least get your name? Or a kiss, either could work. Maybe both." Kai smirked.
This girl was the first person to be this bold towards him. People were usually afraid of him, making him feel superior over others. But this girl, completely unaware that she was grabbing an idol's collar, seemed to have more confidence than him. The six words that rolled off of her tongue sent shivers down his spine.
"Lee Eunmi is the name."
Eunmi laughed as she released the collar and walked towards the bike rack. Jongin waved, wanting to prolong their conversation, but all she did was holler "Leave me alone!" as a reply.
Jongin wasn't the type of person to be attracted to girls so quickly. But there was something about Eunmi that made him want to know more. For one thing, he owned the same snapback as her. Her dark brown hair had small tangles, he noticed, and she constantly rolled her eyes whenever Jongin opened his mouth. This was a new feeling for him, a feeling that he loved yet wanted to go away at the same time.
After temporarily pushing Eunmi out of his mind, he looked down at his sweater again. The day has been dampened once again. Kyungsoo could wash the coffee stain out, so Jongin was going to dump the responsibility on him.
His phone was still in his hand, tightly clutched between his fingers. His hand was becoming white from gripping it so tightly, and he relaxed his fingers while staring at the screen. He received a text from Kyungsoo about 2 minutes ago.
"Hi, where are you?"
He pursed his lips in hesitation while he decided on whether to enclose his location to Kyungsoo. Jongin finally decided to tell him because Kyungsoo was the only EXO member he fully trusted.
"Apartment. Meet me there?"
Jongin locked his phone amd shoved it back in his pocket, letting out a sigh and looking around. He might as well start walking. But Eunmi was nowhere in sight, to his dismay. Honestly, he wanted to see where she lived. Not to be a stalker, but to just talk to her once in a while.
He was determined to meet her again, and they were bound to cross paths one day, right?
