Josephine Gustin a NYPD detective who gets recruited by the FBI, finds herself in a different city with no family or friends. She found it hard to adjust but she was able to use her skills in the department where she wasn't able to use them before, she was a behavioural analysis agent she had been able to use the skills she had since she was a child, the ability to read people.
Which often annoyed people including her parents which often left her alone, but she was loyal to a tee which made her friends in the department after risking her life to save another cops life. She didn't really have time for relationships she spent all of her time on her job.
When she joined the unit she never expected to find love, she ended up becoming friends with Hotch an FBI agent but when he looses his wife to a serial killer Hotch becomes distant and unlike himself and no matter how much he pushes her away Jo won't leave but what happens when Jo realises she's fallen for him.
