My fault

"How dare you go out for a swim yourself" my mom yammered up bubbles and bubbles of talking about my little expedition yesterday.I told her yesterday that nothing happened but a pesky,nosy dolphin told her.I just ate my shark flipper and turned away.My brother was sneering at me from the other connected cavern.He stuck his tongue at me."Bother someone else blowfish".He swam away with a smirk on his annoying face. I swam out of the cavern hungry.My prey got away yesterday so I am determined to at least get something.I swam to the coral reef looking for something tasty.Most if the creatures scurried home where ever they live.I saw a bird floating on the surface perhaps a seagull.I swam up slowly trying not make vibrations in the water.My teeth grew and so did my nails.I grabbed it and forced it down.I balled up one fist and left out on finger and ran it cleanly but sharply across the seagulls throat. Blood spilled out.Sure most people would be full after a shark fin but I am a growing merman and I need my prey.I quickly ate the lifeless bird and let its bones hit the ocean floor.After that tasty meal I started looking around and i realize where was my location yesterday.I took a peek out of water.I turned around and saw to two legs sitting together.There was a thing with wheels all around them and the logo news on them.I focused more on the humans sitting down.It was my prey sitting down with a man who looked superior in a tight outfit with a big thick string tight on his neck.I listened in on there conversation.I heard "There you have it folks there is a new creature lurking in the sea.Then one of the men with a big bulky thing in his hand turned to another man and that human said "we will launch a underwater expedition to see if what this victim is telling the truth.A chill ran up my membrane.In school they taught us some English words and they said expedition meant search.Oh no.They are going to be going in the water to look for my kind because of me.My happy mood collapsed and was replaced.I felt like a caged shark.I turned around and switched to hyper swim which it's what merfolks do when they need to get somewhere fast.On my way I snatched up a baby dolphin.Its mother tried to swim after it but couldn't keep up.I was going to the top of the merfolk.The council that decides where we migrate our borders and other things that a child wouldn't understand according to my dad.When going to the council it is best to bring a gift.Hopefully the humans don't start soon.
