There are five very true words in this world that make sense to me. Five words that sum up a fact.

Finn is a great kisser.

The amazing feeling of his lips against mine still lingered on my face, three whole days later.

A tiny voice in the back of my head knew it wasn't right- I had made him cheat on his girlfriend.

But it felt so right.

Plus, I know Melody. And she's a stuck up, rich girl snob. Yes, I do have a lot of money too, but because I earned it. By acting, my passion. And she's argued before that it wasn't good acting- but who won the award?

Me.

And how did she get her money, you ask?

She inherited it.

Ugh, rich people.

I sighed, hugging the pillow close to my chest. I was lying on my stomach on the couch, complaining to my best friend, Suzie Dunken.

Her hands on her hips, her red, curly hair flowing over her perfectly rounded shoulders, Suzie is a great listener. She always has been, plus kind, loving, loyal, and caring. But sassy and a fighter when she needs to be.

"Wait so you just...leaned in?" She questioned, raising her eyebrow.

"I hope he doesn't hate me," I moaned into the pillow.

"You kissed him without consent!" She yelled, throwing her hands up.

I flipped over, sitting up. I flattened my hair and reminded her, "c'mon, Suze. I told you, how could I not? It was perfect," I sighed, leaning back down, clutching the pillow. "The stars were shining in his eyes, it was dark, we were on a romantic ride, and plus, Melody couldn't see us..."

"Where's your integrity, M?!" Suzie shouted, taking a seat next to me on the couch. "I know you've had a crush on him since..." her eyebrow went up.

"Forever," I finished, since she forgot. Then I jumped up and headed to the kitchen, sighing for the one hundredth time that day.

"You need to get over yourself," Suzie coached, following me. She reached for a cup in the cabinet and filled it with water from the tap. "He's obviously not interested."

I opened the fridge and looked around for something to eat. I finally settled on a tupperware bowl of leftover macaroni and cheese. "I know," I replied, sticking it in the microwave. "I just wish boys weren't so stupid."

Suzie laughed. "Don't we all."

When Suzie went home a couple hours later, I sat lazily on the couch, slumped over and watching some good old episodes of X-files, knowing I was safe in my pajamas with no plans.

So I was more than a bit surprised when the doorbell rang and I opened it to see Finn, shivering in his pajamas.

"Hey," he puffed, "Millie."

"Erm," I glanced around, but there was no car or bike or anything. "Did you walk?"

"Yeah," was his profound answer.

I raised an eyebrow, scanning him up and down. "Right..." I nodded, not even bothering to ask for more information. "...uh, come in, I guess?"

He immediately barreled in, shaking snow off of his boots.

"It snowed?" I muttered. "How long have I been inside?"

I closed the door and locked it, spinning around to see Finn sitting on the couch. "Hey," he whispered.

"Hi?" I answered, sitting down a few cushions away. "Why are you whispering?"

He stared at his hands for a few moments before looking up at me, staring deeply into my eyes. "Listen," he started, "I can't stop thinking about you."

"Um-"

"No, hear me out. I really like you Millie...but not in that way..."

I shrugged. "Finn-"

"I just want to let you know that I still want to be friends, but with you kissing me and all, it's kind of hard, your putting ideas in my head-"

"Wait, what?" I burst out laughing, noticing him staring down at his hand. "Let me guess, you couldn't remember your own speech?"

His expression turned sad for a moment, making me pause my giggles.

"Millie..." Finn sighed, returning his gaze to his hands. "Melody wrote it for me." His eyes met mine. "I told her we kissed."

I jumped up from my seat, shocked. "What?"

"Millie, she's my girlfriend! I can't keep any secrets from her...and..."

I could feel tears forming behind my eyes. I blinked them away quickly. "And?"

"She said if I want to keep dating her..." his curly black hair fell down in front of his face. His voice lowered to a whisper as he stated the truth grimly, a tiny slit in his hair allowing him to stare into my eyes.

"...I couldn't be friends with you anymore."

I blinked, the full impact of this statement hitting me at full force. The tears released, spilling over my eye lids. I wiped them away with my pajama sleeve, hiding my face behind my hair in shame.

I could feel Finns hand on my shoulder, but I shrugged it off, meeting his eyes. "I did this," I whispered. "Finn, I am so sorry-"

"Millie, it's fine-"

That's when I felt something inside of me snap. Something that had been shaking and threatening to break all day long. I couldn't take it anymore.

"It's not fine Finn!" I shouted. "It's not, and you KNOW THAT!" I huffed, shaking. I took a seat on the tiny chair in the corner, seeing Finn looking concerned and watching me closely out of the corner of my eye.

"Millie, I-" Finn tried again.

"Just go," I whispered, pointing to the door. It felt like hours before he finally stopped watching me and left, shutting the door behind him.

But then something came to my mind. I jumped up and raced out of the door, catching Finn just before he stepped off the last step of the porch.

He turned to me, wide eyed.

"And just so you know," I told him, holding the door, ready to close it after those final words.

"You are not her puppet."
