They had been hiding out in an abandoned tree house, hoping that the new heroes would never find them.
Marinette had de-transformed and was informed of everything that she had done as her sad self. So she had to play along with what was going on.

"A few questions, Mari," sighed Adrien.
"Go ahead," smiled Marinette as she sat down on the floor and fiddled with the ring.
"Why have you got my ring? You know that your evil side controls if you take it off or not," he asked.
"Well... I'm the only miraculous holder left. I had to take it," sighed Marinette.
"What do you mean, the only miraculous holder?" he asked.

Suddenly, Carapace, Rena Rouge and Queen Bee jumped through a window and landed inside.
"Tell him Mari," encouraged Rena Rouge.
Her sad self took over and a blue outfit covered her.

"If you don't tell him, I will!" threatened Carapace. A tear exploded from her eye but she quickly wiped it away.
"Do you remember our previous fight?" asked Sadness.
"Yes."
"Well, you snuck up on him and he.... he... he killed you with his lightsaber," explained Sadness, stammering slightly.
"I... I shouldn't be here Mari," said Adrien.
"I know, I know you shouldn't but I had to get you back!" she cried.
"Marinette, he's dead and there's nothing you can do about it," sighed Queen Bee.
"Shut up! Just shut up!" yelled Sadness/Mari.
"It's alright girl," sighed Rena Rouge, resting her arm on Marinette's shoulder.

"Mari, you have to let me go," sighed Adrien.
"I can't let you die!" sobbed Marinette.
"You have no choice," whisperer Adrien sadly.
"I... I love you," she sniffed.
"I love you too," he smiled. They kissed for three seconds before watching him stand in position.

She watched him slowly fade away as she swiped her destructive hand. Carapace took the ring off of Marinette's hand and they all watched her crumple like a piece of paper.

Rena Rouge helped Marinette out and dropped her off home. Master Fu did what he does and appear from nowhere.

"We are ready to return them," smiled Alya.
"Of course," he smiled and took the miraculous.

He turned to Marinette and looked at her. She looked at him sadly.
"I understand if you don't want me as Ladybug anymore," she sniffed.
"No no. We need our Ladybug. But Marinette, here's something you might like," chuckled Master Fu.

She took the diamond necklace.
"It grants you one wish," he explained and disappeared out of the room.

Marinette looked at it before closing her eyes.
"I wish Adrien was alive and no one had a memory of him dying," she whispered.

The necklace faded and eventually, Adrien reappeared.
"Marinette!" cried Adrien.
"Adrien!" she sobbed.
"I thought I was supposed to die," mumbled Adrien.
"A miracle," smirked Nino. They were the only ones who knew of his death.
