The Shadow Knight slashed the last wild baboon and watched as it disintegrated into a million pieces.
"Take that, you monster!" Cliff exclaimed, thinking that was the last of them.
From the corner of his eye, he just spotted more baboons heading right towards him.
"Oh, great! Exactly how many of them are there?"
He had nowhere else to go, for behind him was a dead end. Right now he had only two choices. The first, face the baboons, which may kill him, since his health bar is currently at yellow (yellow means it is just a little above red). The second is to enter the dark building at the side of the dark alley. But who knows what sort of creatures lurk in there?
He checked his inventory. "Hmm, what can I do to delay those baboons," he asked himself.
The baboons were getting closer, only around ten seconds from Cliff.
"Hmm, I must have something in here."
8 seconds.
"Think, think. What is something that can hold them off for a few minutes? Something big, very big."
3 seconds.
"Ah here, Giant Stone. I'm just gonna put it right here." And just when they were just about to reach Cliff, the gigantic stone appeared out of nowhere. Several baboons were thrown off to the sky, and Cliff could hear the rest screaming from the other side, wanting to pass.
"Phew, that was close," he sighed, then entered the dark building.
The structure was quite old. The windows were replaced with rusty bars and the inside was void of any object. Besides the screaming baboons, the only other thing Cliff could hear was water dripping from the ceiling.
Cliff began to listen more closely, and he started to hear other sounds. From one corner of the room, he heard a croak, then a figure slowly revealed itself. The Shadow Knight prepared his battle stance, but then let his guard down when he realized that it was just a tiny toad.
Letting his guard down was a big mistake. As if appearing out of thin air, someone dashed towards Cliff and pushed him against the wall.
Cliff was still confused of the matters that were going on, but he knew that if he just moved an inch, he would get impaled by the dagger that is currently at his throat.
"Woah, chill dude," Cliff said nervously.
"Number 1, you are trespassing my territory. Number 2, I am not a dude," the female replied.
Cliff looked at the girl. She was just like him, wearing mostly black. But instead of a cape, she wore a hood which completely concealed her face. Only two purple eyes coldly looking at him could be seen.
"I'm not trespassing. I'm just looking for cover."
"Oh yeah, cover from what?"
Cliff doubted that she would believe him even if he told her the truth, but hey, honesty is the best policy. "Baboons. Crazy baboons. I defeated quite a number of them, but more kept coming. Their number seems to be infinite."
"What? Baboons? And where are they now?"
"Umm, I delayed them with a giant rock outside. That should hold them off for a few minutes, and we can use that time to find a way out."
"What? You lured them here? Do you know what you've done? There is no way out of here. The only exit is through the entrance! Oh, we are both gonna die..."
"Seriously? Quick, we must hide before they---"
Then suddenly there was a loud bang, and the sound of the baboons filled the entire building.
"What do we do now?" Cliff asked.
"There's nothing else we can do, except fight!"
Both warriors charged, Cliff attacking with his sword, the girl using her dagger. They killed the baboons easily, but in this case the problem was that they were outnumbered. For each ten they kill, fifteen more would appear. It just seemed to have no end.
Cliff noticed the girl's HP drop to red. A baboon then leaped towards her, jaw open, preparing to bite.
"Watch out!" he warned. Cliff bravely rushed to her side and guarded her with his body, taking the damage. He swung his sword and jabbed the baboon half a dozen times, before it shattered to a million pieces.
"Hey, umm... guy! Our HP's red! What do we do now?"
"I don't know. Do you have any potions?"
"No. I've been stuck in this place for the past two months. And now you disturbed my peaceful life. This place should have been perfect for hiding from those baboons, and you ruined everything."
"I think this is not a good time to blame each other," Cliff replied as he swung his sword once more, killing another baboon.
Then something shocking happened. Four baboons charged forward at the same time. Both players knew this was the end. But all of a sudden, the four disintegrated, then the all of the remaining too, broke into pieces.
"Need a hand?" a familiar voice asked.
Cliff found himself surrounded by dozens of warriors, probably more than the number of baboons, dressed in red armor. On their chests was symbol which was not foreign. Two swords intersecting each other which formed the letter 'X'.
In the midst of the rescuers stood a white-haired man with red eyes.
"Blood?"

"Greetings, my old friend. It's been how long? Ah, five days, since we've seen each other. Seems like you were not doing quite well. You almost died there."
"How would I have survived that? The ratio was infinity to two. The baboons being at infinity. Why did you help me anyway? And how did you know where I was?" Cliff inquired.
"I was keeping an eye on you. I thought that it wouldn't be fun if you died so early. I'd lose a rival then. But let me just tell you, this will be the last time. Next time, come prepared."
"I really appreciate your kindness. I really do. But I find it rather uncomfortable with you following me around. What is your motive?"
"Alright then, I'll be honest to you. I want you on my guild. Think about it, we can fight as a team. You won't be in a situation like just now anymore."
"How many times should I tell you? I won't join your guild."
"Why not?"
"Because he already has a guild," the female suddenly said. "He's with me."
"And you are?" Blood inquired.
"That does not matter. He is already in a guild, and you can't force him to move."
"If this is the case then it seems there is nothing else I can do." Blood looked at Cliff. "Farewell then, till next time." All the Blood Knights all went out in a rush.
"Hey, I think we need to leave quickly too, before those baboons..." Cliff looked around, and found out that the female had vanished into thin air.
"Well, that was quick," he said to himself. "I didn't even get to know her name." Cliff ran out of the building. On his way out, he accidentally stepped on a piece of metal. Picking it up, he realized that it was the female's dagger.
A name was boldly engraved on its handle.
"Raven," he read, then put the weapon in his inventory. "Cool name."
