❛She's drunk beyond belief,❜ The officer spoke to his colleague, rubbing his temple. ❛Apparently her parents have no idea how she got her hands on the alcohol. The car wasn't hers either.❜
His colleague inhaled slightly and tapped his foot impatiently, wanting to go home already, it was nearly 10pm - the end of his shift. Yet, three people from the collision were in hospital right now and they had a duty to figure out why it happened.
From the window they surveyed the girl - clearly intoxicated, yet she still appeared to know her whereabouts and what had happened only recently. She had a look of fear on her face, confusion too, and her head zipped quickly around the dark room. The taller of the pair shrugged his shoulders and sighed, standing up straight and urging the other to follow him into the room.
❛Interview dated February 21st 2018; prisoner number 20. Drink driving and dangerous driving charges on Ms Moon Daehwan: interview beginning at 9:59pm.❜ The officer spoke into the recorder before taking his seat. The girl bled from her eyebrow, her chin slightly bruised as she sat still, looking at the table she sat at.
❛Do you remember everything that happened, Daehwan?❜ He asked, folding his arms at his chest as he watched her head lift slightly, her eyebrow raising as she flinched back in pain, forgetting about her injury.
❛I was driving through Seoul and I think I-❜
❛You were stupidly drunk and caused a four-way collision hospitalising three people.❜ The other officer interrupted her, a strong anger present in his words. His eyebrows furrowed as he leaned closer to her from across the table. His partner placed a hand on his arm, yet he never backed down. ❛You foolish child!❜
❛I d-didn't mean it...❜ She mumbled under her breath, taken aback by his aggressive nature. ❛My parents, they...❜
❛Weren't behind the damn wheel - you were!❜ He exclaimed back, banging his fist against the table as it shook. She recoiled in panic, feeling tears bubbling in the corners of her eyes. All she wanted to do was shut them tight and wish her life away right there and then. ❛Don't go blaming others for your crime: this is your problem, no-one else's.❜
❛I didn't want any of this to happen.❜ She spoke quietly, watching her fiddling fingers sitting in her lap. ❛I never intended to hurt anyone...❜
The other officer exhaled. ❛Well, you did. You're reckless and dangerous, Moon Daehwan.❜
Daehwan held her breath as she bit down on her bottom lip, looking to the side to stop herself from crying. She watched as the officers in front of her ended the recording and stood from their seats, making their way to the door.
❛I wish you were sober right now so you'd realise the pain you have caused.❜ The other spat as he turned his back to her, mumbling some curses under his breath.
