Envy lives alone, in a lush mansion
she is rich, but she does not care
the neighbors house is slightly bigger,
Envy wants more
Envy's skin and hair are a soft pea green,
her face glows in good health, but she does not care,
For Love's skin is a beautiful sunset pink
Envy wants more
Envy is harsh and angry, her words biting and cruel.
She is friendless and abandoned,
left alone to bask in the leftover light of Kindness's many friends,
fueled by her gentle voice, and smooth speech
Envy wants more
Envy dresses in clothes of beautiful jewels and expense,
but is shadowed by Sadness's wardrobe of many shades of mournful blacks
Envy's jewels dull in comparison to Sadness's gleaming gems
Envy wants more
Envy walks down her street every night,
past the homes of Grief, Annoyance, Anger, and all the others.
Joy's house is lit up, a flurry of emotions inside and out,
dancing, laughing, celebrating at her party.
Envy is alone
Envy returns home, sorrowful, but unsure why.
Envy looks over her brilliant home and many belongings,
but does not feel satisfied, and doesn't want more.
for a moment, Envy sees what her life has become
hollow,
friendless,
alone...
Envy grieves for herself, and what she has lost,
Envy is alone.
But the moment passes and she thinks about the happy faces she saw,
but when she looks in the mirror,
a scowl lives where a smile should,
Envy wants more...
