Erica Lee* was the eldest child of the Lee family. They weren't Korean but since her mother had loved the country so much, her father had agreed to live there and change their names.

But when she was seventeen years old, they had died. Still a teenager, there wasn't much she could do but she still did her best to support her family. She would accept any job offer made to her because she didn't have any school diplomas to help her get a proper job. She wanted her sisters and brother to study and stay in school but they wouldn't listen to her! Don't they know how much she regretted dropping out of school? How much more difficult life was without a full education?

They had only gotten by until now without too many difficulties in their lives because they'd had a benefactor. As women, Erica and her sisters should have been paid less than a man but, by some miracle, their salaries were the same as a man's. Even more amazing was that they had always had a prime that was the half of their salary. It shouldn't have been possible but thanks to a mysterious benefactor, they had the money they needed to get by.

She knew that in this world full of aliens she should be more preoccupied with her siblings' security, but how could she think about that when they didn't even have a house? How they lived was more important. Moreover, there were superheroes and a police force in every city to protect them. So why should she burden herself with that as well?

But then, suddenly as it came, the money disappeared. They were now paid like any other woman, less than a man.

With even less money, her brother, the youngest one, had to start working as well. Would it have been better if she had been born a superhero? She just couldn't understand why they all wanted to work! Couldn't they just continue to go to school? Spend their days having fun with their friends?! Why would they want to drop out of school like her?!

Just be like Amanda! She wanted to tell them. Act like a spoiled child and don't do anything!

But little did she know that in the future she would regret thinking like this.

In the future, she would wish that Amanda had died more than anything.

[Note*: Asian people write the family name first whereas Western people would write their first name first. Like this, it shows that Erica doesn't think as herself as an Asian person, she had a western way of thinking. She still kept her Western habits.]
