Kaiden's pov:

"Who is it?" I glared at Xavier.

It was so perfect to see Ana in his arms and bearing his mark. He couldn't have been more proud of her. His heart was swelling with happiness. It did surprise him when she asked him to mark her. He hadn't been expecting something like that. His mate is full of surprises. But his idiot beta/best friend had to ruin the moment.

Ari came up behind Xavier and said,"I will stay with her, you're needed at the office Alpha. The previous Alpha and Luna have also arrived and are waiting in your office."

"Well, anybody wants to tell me what's going on, and why are my parents here?"

"Kaiden, there is an Oracle in your office. She came in through pack territory requesting to meet the Alpha urgently. You know the rules regarding oracles; they are highly respected and can go to any pack on their own will. She also asked for your parents to be present, apparently, she has visited before during your father's time."

Yes, he was aware of wolf Oracles. They prefer quiet and peaceful environment and usually live alone in pack territories or non-pack wolf territories. They are very few oracles left as they were often used by greedy wolves for their powers.

The question was what would an Oracle want from him? He has never met one before. Reluctantly, he went towards his office, the sooner this meeting is done, the sooner he can get back to Ana.

Entering the office with Xavier, he saw his parents, Will and a lady sitting on the couch. The lady seems to be approx. 35 years but you can never know about an Oracle's true age. They were gifted people.

They all stood and my father introduced us. Apparently, she is a friend. Her name is Doris. She has silver hair and grey eyes. I felt an aura around her, something like a charged energy. I gestured them all to sit and ask the reason for her visit.

"Alpha Kaiden, as you are well aware that we oracles often scry for visions. Anyone can ask us to scry but we have the power to accept or reject a request depending on their nature. But for past few months, we are being targeted by rogues. A few Oracle friends of mine were killed too. I hardly made it here. Your father once promised me that if I ever needed help I can come here, but now that you are the new Alpha, I need your permission to reside here for the time being."

I looked at my dad and mindlinked him, "Dad did you made a promise like this to her?"

"Yes, I did Kaiden. She is a friend and moreover an Oracle. It is our duty to protect them."

"Doris, it will be an honour to have you here. Just give me a little time to make a few preparations, in the meanwhile Will; my gamma will take you to the kitchen to eat something. You must be starving."

"Yes, thank you Alpha Kaiden. By the way, congratulations." She amused.

"Huh, for what?"

"Why, for finally marking your mate, of course." She winked at me and went out the door.

I smiled and everyone beamed on hearing it. After my parents congratulated me, I asked them to make necessary preparations for the Oracle. They left, making Xavier and me alone in the office.

"Do you think it's a good idea to have an Oracle here?" Xavier sounded unsure.

"Hey, I know the timing is weird but how can one deny a request from Oracle."

"I know, it's just I feel there is something off. I don't know man call it a gut feeling but there is more to this Oracle than meets the eye. Did you feel weird around her?"

"Frankly I don't trust Oracles that much either but my father promised her, so I have to take her in. You should keep an eye on her anyway. Meanwhile, I will check with other Alpha's if they had heard about oracles getting killed by rogues or an Oracle taking sanctuary in their lands. After that, we can decide what to do in this matter."

"Yeah, sounds like a plan. So, if that Oracle is staying with us now, should we ask her to scry for us? I have never met one before and it would be fun to try."

"Well if you want then go ahead, but before that, we have to pay a visit to the dungeons."

Xavier groaned. I know he doesn't like rogues and wanted to kill all of them when he heard what happened and saw the car crash but I ordered him to capture a few rogues so that we can gain any information from them.

Reluctantly he agreed and we got up together.

"You go ahead; I'll just check on Ana and join you."

He nodded and went outside while I turned and reached my room in seconds. Ari was still here.

"Hey, is she okay?"

I asked brushing my fingers up from her hair to her check. She sighed and leaned into my touch. I felt so happy just by looking at her sleeping form.

"Yeah. Just tired. She will wake up in a few hours."

"Thank you, Ari"

She nodded and smiled. I left and went to the dungeons. Might as well finish this before she wakes up.

I entered the cells and found Xavier strangling the rogue.

"Tell me how did you know that she was going to be at the mall?"

I leaned at the wall beside Xavier and looked at the rogue. He was struggling but didn't say anything.

Xavier squeezed his neck more and his face turned blue.

"Tell us"

"I-I "

Xavier loosened his hold but still had her hands around his neck.

Coughing the rogue said," we were told by our master that she was going to be there."

"Who is your master and how did he know?"

"We call him master, he always tells us what to do and in return we get money."

"How does this master look?" I asked the rogue.

"Don't know. Nobody but the superior ranks has seen him. We always get our tasks by phone or another rogue hand them to us."

"Do you know any of the superior rank or someone that might lead us to your master?"

"No every time, it's someone new."

That got our attention.

"What do you mean every time?"

"It's not the first time; we were kidnapping a human girl. We have done this before."

Xavier and I shared a look. This master, whoever he or she is kidnapping human girls but why? Do all these humans are werewolves' mates? And who is this master?
