Just like today, and every other day, I lived in a time where happiness was everywhere. From seeing smiles on people's faces, kind hearts, and a world where peace can be vitalized, Anteiku was my everything. I loved it here. Often times, the smell of nicely brewed coffee soothed my senses. It was thanks to Touka, that I could feel this way. She brought me here, and treated me with dignity. Yoshimura, I could call him a grandfather. He was kind to me, and took me into Anteiku with open arms. He taught me how to make the most delicious brew there was. I'm glad to have known such a place. "So, Miki. You seein' anyone yet?" I almost broke all the dishes at Touka's question. "What?! No way!" "Oh, come on...you hang out with a lot of people. Even the customers here like you, you're a beautiful flower." Touka smiled while picking up the dishes from where I left off. She took up a towel, and began drying them accordingly. What would cause her to ask such a stupid question..."You're really weird you know that?" "How so?" "Look, even if I did like anyone I couldn't be involved." I rolled my eyes. "Why not?" She asked."Number one, my father would most likely rip him to shreds if he found out about me dating another ghoul." "So I guess Uta's out of the question? Poor kid..." That wasn't funny. Uta had an eye for beauty, and he did admire my kagune the most. He was also just a friend and nothing more. Besides, after that weird crush on Shuu, it'd be best to stay away from other ghouls. After all, there was only one boy on the planet I could ever fall in love with. He went to the same school as me, and he meant the world. Kaneki Ken, a childhood friend that I had a crush on until this very day. He was so sweet, kind, loving, cherishing, and simple. If he ever knew the truth that I was a ghoul, then, he'd be lost. And not just Kaneki, but Hide as well. But...if either if them found out who my father was, even that'd be enough to make them stay away from me. "Miki?" It sounded like Touka'd been calling out for a while now. She was giving me the eye again. "Sorry, I was just thinking of someone." Her brows furrowed at an angle, while she covered her nose as if there was a bad smell in the air. "You...you're not still hung up on Shuu are you?" "As if..." The bell chimed signaling that a costumer had just walked in. Touka and I faced each other with a smile."I'll go check who it is, and take their order. You deliver it, mkay!" Reaching into her pocket, Touka pulled out a pen and notepad then left the room with a smile. From behind the counter was Yoshimura. He had such a great sense of cordiality. I wanna be like that someday. "Hey hottie what's your name?!" "T–Touka..." "Let me just cut to the chase, would you go on a date with me!" "Cut it out man! If you get me kicked out, I'll never forgive you! This is the only place I ever run into her!" Huh? That sounds a lot like... "Miki new order!" Touka busted through the back, face washed with red from embarrassment. "Hurry up goddammit!" "Alright Alright!"I gathered up the order from the list, peeking out the door to the main entranceway, when the door opened again. In came someone who I candidly loathed. She was the bane of my existence, who would do us all better if she'd just died from childbirth. The girl who pretended to fit in for the sake of a thrill, to betray everything within a second. She has no clemency, or commiseration for others and just takes takes takes until there is nothing left. She has no sense of remorse, only an insatiable desire that nullifies her sense of morality, which are non existent in her category. Pretending to be kind, and innocent, the woman walks in with her tied back purple hair that ended at her shoulders, falling to one side. Her scarlet frames, that reflect what she so seeks, treacherous smile, and seductive attitude forces my soul to burn with anger. I walked out into the open, fixing my expression to greet the customers who gave Touka trouble earlier. "Welcome to Anteiku, may I take your...Kaneki?" What was he doing here? I've never seen him before, or maybe that's because Touka usually delivers. Kaneki smiled, waving at me. "Hey Miki, I didn't know this was the part time job you were talking about– He was cut off by a sharp whistle from Hide. "You look totally cute in that outfit, Miki, it brings out your eyes."
