I lean on the doorframe with a warm cup of tea molded into my hands as my eyes stare straight into the living room where Klaus had deposited Sophie on the couch. He's still mad about the witches attacking Hayley, and he wanted an explanation so he brought Sophia here.
"We had a deal! You protect my unborn child, I dismantle Marcel's army. And whilst I've been busy fulfilling my part of the bargain, you allowed Hayley to be attacked and almost killed by a gaggle of lunatic witches."
Sophie frantically starts to defend herself in the upcoming argument. "I had nothing to do with it, I swear. Hayley and I are linked, remember? She dies, I die." she tells us.
Rebekah pops in the conversation, a confused look on her face. "Then who were they?"
Sophie sighs and explains who they are. I was wondering too, but they can't be all that great since I managed to take most of them down before Hayley's dog ate the rest of them. "They are a faction of extremists. Sabine stupidly told them about some vision she had about the baby."
My eyebrows furrow together as I become suspicious to what my up coming baby was going to do. "Uh, what kind of visions?"
All eyes move over to me and Sophie nods her head and answers my question. "She has them all the time. They are totally open to interpretation. I'm guessing she's wrong on this one."
"Well, how, may I ask, was this particular vision interpreted?" Klaus asks and Sophie looks down, "Pretty much that your baby would bring death to all witches."
A huge smile forms on Klaus' face. "Ah, well. I grow fonder of this child by the second." I open my mouth in surprise, I refuse to believe my child will do that, even if Klaus accepts this future homicide.
"Sophie, look— I promised Elijah that I would protect the Mikaelson miracle-baby whilst he tries to win your witch Davina's loyalty. Why don't you tell me just how extreme this faction is?"
Sophie looks at her, surprised. "Elijah's talking to Davina?" Rebekah nods, "Yeah. As we speak, I imagine."
"I'm guessing she'll have plenty to say about that crowd." Sophie replies, a small sigh escaping her lips. "Do tell." Klaus says, a smirk forming as he seemed intrigued.
"I... wasn't always an advocate for the witches." Sophie tells us and begins to tell us that she was the party type, around 8 months ago. She says her sister, Jane-Anne, told her that they were moving forward with some Harvest.
"What the bloody hell is a Harvest?" Rebekah asks, furrowing her eyebrows. Sophie sighs and explain what the Harvest is. "It's a ritual our coven does every three centuries so that the bond to our ancestral magic is restored. We appease our ancestors, they keep our ancestral power flowing."
"And why haven't I heard of this?" Klaus questions. "Because a Harvest always seemed like a myth. A story, passed on through generations like Noah's ark, or the Buddha walking on water. The kind some people take literally, and some people don't." Sophie tells us, but I didn't believe her.
"They had the girls of our community preparing for months. Four would be chosen for the Harvest. They said that it was an honor, that they were special. I thought it was a myth."
"Well, was it?" I ask her, raising my eyebrow. Sophie's face changes to a guilty one. But, before she could answer me, Klaus' phone rings.
"Marcel. Bit early in the day for you, isn't it?"
A thin smile forms on his lip as he continues to talk to Marcel on the other side of the line. "Rather you than me. All that responsibility seems like such a bore."
