A figure curled up in a ball in a dark corner of the now strangely cold room, called out. Sobbing for her boyfriend to come, cuddle her, kiss her, love her. Chase all the monsters away.

She longed for one more "I love you", one more "you are so beautiful", one more 'I'm so lucky to have you".

'Please. Oh god, oh god, oh god.'

Her cries echoed through the once colourful and cheery, now cold and dull apartment.

Sadness and pain slithered up her spine, hand in hand like pythons. One curling round her neck choking and suffocating her. The other coming to a stop around her head, blinding her senses but not stopping the tears and sobs.

Sobs wracked through her body. Shaking and sobbing, screaming and thrashing, clawing at the wall in search of safety, of warmth, of him.

The hiccupping breaths came harder and faster. Hyperventilation set in. It stopped soon enough, turning into hollow breaths, then into sobs and cries again and so the cycle started again.

And repeat.

And repeat.

And repeat.

Until she was too tired to move.

Her body slumped against a wall, too exhausted to do anything more.

Darkness enveloped her like a blanket and she welcomed it with open arms.
