Dear Edith,
School is hard. I know you know this. Sometimes I feel like drowning but I know that that will do no one any good.
Mom is doing well. Gale is more than ok. Trevor is barely holding up. I can't blame him, though. Neither am I..
You are safe. I wish I had the freedom you do. But I can't leave my family to be with you. As much as I wish this upon me, it is selfish.
I hope you are holding up alright. Our home is still as under-crowded as ever. We have such a gigantic beautiful house, but nothing to hold it's space. It gets a little lonely with only Mom, Trevor, and me. Gale has gone off to college.
I wish you could have stayed a little while longer. I know you didn't really have a choice, but I wish you could have at least finished high school. But I know you hated that school. I'm glad I don't have to go there this year. Anyhow, that will be all for today.
Sincerely, Madelyn
