  Cast Background  

Charvi Malhotra did not want to end up as the sole heir of the family empire but life and its circumstances led her from muddy rivers to board rooms. Like any sensible person, she knew that fighting against life was not only a waste of time but it would also drain the very life out of her. Therefore, she chose not to fight. She let the life guide her and she followed without becoming the barrier herself. However, one can only follow so far. Soon after her twenty-fifth birthday, her family decides to give her another present; like the gift of family heirlooms was not enough, they wanted her to marry and have her own family. 

Shray Dubey ends up being the outlier in his family when he joined Indian army, instead of spending his life after graduation from one interview to another for some sort of corporate desk job. Like any adventurous person, he chose the highway that put him front and centre of the firing line. After seeing the deaths of his colleagues and knowing the devastation it left on their family members, he chose to fight against life. Therefore, when he returns home after three years of duty, he refuses to let his parents set up a good marriage proposal for him. Where he is already committed to his service, he couldn't find it in him to give hopes and dreams to someone when he cannot guarantee his own safety. 

In her constant, he becomes her buffer.

Nows - is the first in the series and also sets the stage as a prequel to the second book, which continues to fold and unfold Charvi and Shray's ultimate journey. The third book of the series is considered the sequel as it focuses on the next generation.
