Addy's POV
I wake up next to Luke with a headache. Ugh. I've been getting headaches a lot lately and I'm sick of it. I roll over and let out a groan.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Luke asks, worriedly.
"Nothing," I sigh, "I just have a headache again."
"Awe," He sits up and kisses me on the forehead. "I'll be right back."
I nodded and glanced at the clock. 11:30. I need to stop sleeping in so late.
Luke comes back in the room with medicine and a glass of water, and a sandwich.
"Luke you didn't have to make a sandwich. I'm not even hungry." I tell him.
"Oh, this sandwich is for me. Here," Luke smiles and hands me the glass of water and medicine.
"Thank you," I say and smile back. He nods and takes a bite of his sandwich. He walks over to the bookshelf and grabs a book.
"You've read this one before right?" Luke asks holding up The Fault In Our Stars.
"Mhm," I say. Luke smiles and lays back down next to me. He pulls me closer to him and kisses my forehead again.
"Is your headache feeling better yet?" Luke asks. I shake my head, no. He nods again and opens the book up to a random page, and begins reading.
"But the truth is I had never wanted him to kiss me, not in the way you are supposed to want these things. I mean, he was gorgeous. I was attracted to him. I thought about him 'In That Way' to borrow a phrase from the middle school vernacular. But the actual touch, the realized touch ... it was all wrong." Luke stops reading and looks at me.
"Do all girls think about things like that? It seems kind of... stressful," He says, smiling a bit.
"It is! You have no idea," I reply.
"So she wants to kiss him, but she also doesn't want to kiss him because it seems... wrong?" Luke questions, raising an eyebrow.
"Pretty much," I say.
"Girls are confusing," He shakes his head, looking back down at the book, "If I was him I would have kissed her by now."
"No you wouldn't have," I sat up, "You would be too scared." I teased him. Luke crossed his arms and looked at me.
"I'm assuming your headache is better?" He asks, changing the subject.
"You're a loser. It's cute," I smile at him. He smiles and rolls his eyes at me. Luke looks down at the book and then back at me again. He places a hand on my cheek and kisses me slowly. He pulls away and grins.
"See I just kissed you. It's that easy," Luke said, still smiling.
"Well this is different," I laughed a little, " We've kissed before."
"Still it's not that hard. He should just kiss her," Luke said as he closes the book. I giggle at him.
"Whaaaat?" He questions.
"Nothing!" I assure him.
"I don't believe you but okay," Luke smiles and pokes me in the face.
"Heeeyyyy!" I pout.
"I love you," He says.
"I love you too."
