KATE'S POV
i had just gotten back from luke's house and he actually ended up fixing the camera lens. apparently his dad is into cameras and stuff, so that is why he knows a lot about them.the memories from yesterday in the locker room flashed back into my brain. i was not looking forward to go to school today at all.
"hey pumpkin, want some dinner?" my dad, ken messner, asks from the kitchen. i walk over to the kitchen to find chinese take out, since my dad cannot cook. i softly chuckle at him.
"no thanks dad, i'm not really in the mood right now."
"is everything fine?" he questions me with concern in his voice.
"yeah i'm fine, i'll eat later don't worry." i reassure him. "i think i'm gonna go to sleep now. goodnight dad." i kiss him goodnight and go back to my room.
EMALINE'S POV
"unbelievable. harlot! fallen woman! street walker!" oliver shouts as he threw his glasses on the floor of the school hallways."say what?" i state confusedly as i shut my locker closed.
"pretty much everyone's been saying you got felt up by some chick in the girls locker room." he says a little quieter, only for the both of us to hear.
"yawns yesterday's goss." i chuckle.
"is it true?" he asks more seriously. i didn't answer, instead i just stared at him. "is it true?" he asks once again, annoyed at the situation. before answering, i look around me to make sure people are watching us.
"tis true!" i announce loudly.
"god damn it." he sighs, walking away from me.
"a lady's touch upon my bosom hath awoken such curious and mysterious feelings within me!" i catch up to him, placing my hand on his shoulder, and turning him around.
"i'm not playing a scene with you right now, okay, emaline?" he says in a serious tone. i ignore him and continue.
"oh, how my heart yearns for her! how my loins quake! how free i feel on this merry day!" i push myself against the wall.
"you know this is why you'll never be a good actress. cause you're so out of touch with your inner truth, you can't even have a genuine conversation!" oliver shakes his head. "honestly, i feel bad for you." he starts to walk away from me.
"well you have a tiny dick!" i shout at him, stomping in his direction. everyone watching us gasps and a few chuckles escape from the crowd.
"we're done all right? it's over, that's it!" he yells.
"fine!" i shout back, stomping on his white glasses that were on the floor. i stormed off to the opposite direction and flicked him off with a devilish smirk on my face.
"bitch! my grandma gave me those." oliver shrieks out of frustration. "she has diabetes!"
god damn it. what have i done?
KATE'S POV
this whole day has been nothing but terrible. kids would always give me this disgusted look and would even talk shit right in my face! i ignore their remarks and immediately go to my locker.my heart instantly drops once i take a look at my locker. the word 'dyke' was written on it with permanent marker. i grab my flannel and use all my strength to wipe it off. it was no use, my life is over.
it was lunch time now, and i decided to eat lunch in the bathroom stalls. i know, how pathetic? but that's what happens when people don't know you exist. and to be completely honest, some days i wished i didn't, especially days like this.
as i ate, there were these two girls who began to gossip about emaline and me. they assumed i had AIDS due to the rumor. my heartbeat quickens and i could feel my anxiety kick in. moments later, a women called me to the principals office through the intercom.
i inhale deeply, and open the stall of the bathroom. the two girls were still there and were shocked when they saw me. i glare at them and throw my lunch into the trash can.
"oh my god!" one of the girls gasps.
i approach the principals office and enter.
"dad?" i raise my eyebrows, confused as to why i'm here.
"kate messner! come on in!" he enthusiastically replies.
"what do you want?" i sigh.
"you asked me to treat you like any other student, so i am doing that. take a seat." i lightly roll my eyes and give in, taking a seat with my arms folded. "janitor steve informed me about some crassly worded vandalism, graffiti really, that showed up on a locker this morning. turns out that locker was yours." he explains walking back and forth behind his desk. he leans against his desk and puts on a more serious face. "it says 'dyke' which is a derogatory term for when a women has romantic-"
"i know what it means." i interrupt him before he can cause any further embarrassment.
"okay. i'm just trying to figure out who did this." he awkwardly replies. "you know, has anyone been mean or picking on ya recently? i mean why would someone do that?" he sounded upset that someone would treat his own daughter like that.
"because people are stupid." i softly sigh. he gives me a sympathetic look.
"hey sweetie, i wouldn't take it personally. i bet they didn't even know whose locker it was." he attempts to reassure me, failing cause i knew it was intentional. "everything else okay?"
"yeah." i lie, looking down.
"okay. back to class young lady." he jokes with me, causing a smile to form on my face, which faded quickly. i then exit the office and return to my hell of a life.
the first couple of chapters are going to be a little boring since i'm trying to develop the plot. but don't worry, i'll get into kate and emalines relationship soon;)
