Bon X Rin - Part 3

Rin POV

Spring, like autumn is an odd season.
It can be sunny one minute and then pouring down with rain the next.
Well today, it was raining.
It wasn't heavy, more of a drizzle but it was continuous.
But I don't hate it; in-fact it makes it a lot easier for me to study like this.
Just Looking out of my bedroom window to see a beautiful sunny day that I'm wasting inside studying, would automatically put me in a bad mood. Where as if it is raining, then at least it's as miserable outside as I feel inside.

After at least 5 minutes of watching the rain drops roll silently down my window, I am pulled from my trance by the subtle whimpers of my familiar. 
I turn around quickly in my chair to see said familiar fidgeting atop my bed.
''What's wrong?'' I ask with concern.
'' I really, really need to pee! - but, it's raining and I don't want to go outside!'' Kuro explained desperately.
Relieved that the issue was nothing too serious I suggest that he use the litter tray Yukio had bought him.
He glared at me from across the room.
'' I am a one hundred and twenty one years old Cat Sidhe Rin! Not a house cat! I refuse to use it~''
He reminded me with a hiss.
'' haha, you'll just have to get wet then'' I teased.
He sulked for a moment before jumping down to begin walking towards the bedroom door. 
''Kuro'' I called.
He paused in the door way without turning to face me.
''If you pee anywhere inside the dorm. I will not lie for you when yukio finds out~'' I threatened lightly.
Kuro remained still as he seemed to weigh up his options before concluding that getting a bit wet was better than dealing with a lecture from Yukio.
I laughed aloud as I turn back around in my seat only to catching the bewildered gaze of my tutor.
'Ah shit...I completely forgot he was  here..'
I thought whilst mentally scolding myself.
''Did you-'' he trailed off still confused by what he'd just seen ''Did you just have a conversation with your familiar?''.
''Erm...'' I stalled whilst frantically thinking of an answer that wouldn't make me sound crazy.
His questioning gaze bore into me, I feel like Im being interrogated!
I took in a deep breath before deciding there was only one way to get out of this.
'' I'm.... not going to be able to convince you that I just like talking to my cat am I?''
I joked trying to make light of the situation.
''Nope, try again~'' he smiled, which made me relax a little.
I pouted for awhile before giving in to his cocky attitude ''ok! fine I'll tell you, but you won't believe me''
'' Try me~'' he challenged.
'' when Kuro became my familiar I started to hear his voice in my head, kinda like erm...''
''Telepathy?'' he cut in, ''wait, can he hear your thoughts to ?'' He stared at me with eyes wide with curiously.
'' yer, but I usually just talk to him aloud'' I confirmed.
'' I thought demons could only mentally communicate with other demons though?''he questioned.
I froze with fear when I realised I may have said to much. 'What if he figures out what i am?'
I began to panic, my chest tightening making me feel short on breath, I try to keep my breathing even - 'He can't know, not yet; I don't want him to hate me..'

A few second pass -though it feels like hours- but Bon seemed to catch on and notice my internal breakdown.
'I need to pull myself together and say something!'
I parted my lips in attempt to force words out of my mouth. Anything.
''I errm... I know it's a little weird right? Which is why I said you wouldn't believe me'' I laughed nervously.
He looked at me with one eyebrow raised.
''oh no I believe you, I mean yeah it is weird, but so are you, it makes sense.''  he shrugged as his smirk  returned to his lips.

I sighed, releasing the breath that was caught in my lungs; I haven't felt that relieved in a long time.
I continued to sit in silence while hoping the conversation would change to any subject that didn't revolve me.
'Wait...did he just call me weird!?'
Darting my eyes up to meet his, It was very obvious that he had been waiting for me to catch on. He chuckled before saying something along the lines of '' I didn't think it would take you that long!'' between his fit of laughter.
Opening my mouth with a growl I began to object but soon realised it was pointless and just laughed along with him.
After the hysterics had died down the room fell into a comfortable silence, one that neither of us felt the need to break.

The floor boards creaked prompting me to look toward the bedroom door.
There stood Kuro, fur dripping wet and a face that indicated he was not happy.
''The rain must have gotten heavier for you to be that wet, or maybe you just fancied a dip in a puddle?'' I teased, chuckling at his drenched appearance.
Kuro didn't respond, instead he just walked towards me, jumped up onto my lap and proceeded to do everything in his power to soak me as much as possible.
'' kuro!'' I yelp as the cold rain water began to seep through my clothes and onto my skin.

Bon POV

I watched, amused and intrigued by the scene unfolding in front of me. With Rins displeased expression and the Cat sidhe obviously smug face made me feel as if I'm in a scene from a comedy show.
The cat leapt up onto the desk from Rin's lap before walking victoriously across it only to settle on the overlooking window ledge. He glanced back at Rin with a meow which I can only assume was some sort of witty remark.
'' what did he say?'' I asked as my curiosity got the better of me.
Rin's eyes glanced up at me in surprise before returning to continue examining the damage.
Peeling the bottom half of his wet T-shirt away from his  abdomen he grumbled the word ''revenge''.
I couldn't help but smile at his displeased expression.
'' what you smiling at?'' He mumbled as he glanced up at me once more.
My smile widening as his expression morphed to that of a pouting child.
His eyes suddenly shifted to the desk beside him.
With my eyes automatically following his, I immediately noticed what had caught his attention.
'' Kuro, You walked across my homework! Your muddy paw prints are all over it!'' He whined.
His familiar appeared smug and content with his 'revenge'.
Rin looked across at me, his eyes were apologetic and pleading.
If he thinks looking at me with that expression is going to make me feel sorry for him he's wrong, I thought to myself with a devious grin.
'' well, I guess you should go get changed.''  I spoke, Rins eyes lighting up with hope of freedom.
'' We wouldn't want you catching a cold before you've completed that homework''  I grinned as I watched his last glimmer of hope fade from his eyes.
'' Your going to make me start again!?'' He whined, big eyes staring into mine.
"Of course, you want to pass the exam don't you?'' I questioned while rising from my chair.
''If not then I'll leave—''
I Turned away from him in hopes to conceal my grin.
''Wait!'' He yelped desperately before continuing in a defeated tone.
''I'll do it..''
The smile I had been hiding was now spread across my face.
''Haha! I never expected you to cave. Maybe you really do want to become an exorcist!.'' I teased as I turned to face him again.
His expression was difficult to read; he looked both confused and upset, a combination that I had yet to see on him.
''I'm Sorry..'' I apologised immediately,  his gaze sending a wave of guilt through me.
I stared down at him with eyes pleading for forgiveness, his eyes averted mine.
I continued to study his expression to determine my fate, when the corner of his lips began to curl.
''Wait—'' I muttered.
''Bahah! You fell for it!'' He exploded, his serious expression shattering instantly; along with my feelings of guilt.
I stood their silently as I attempted to process what was happening.
' Did he just.... well, two can play this game my friend' I thought to myself as I smirked a wicked grin.
As Rins laughter slowed I walked towards him.
He wiped joyful tears from his eyes as he watched me grab my bag and begin packing up my Text books and stationary.
Before zipping up my rucksack I pulled out some papers and placed them on his desk. He glanced up at me, his expression confused and questioning.
I pulled my rucksack onto my shoulder and watched as Rin focused his attention on the multiple papers in front of him.
'' They are exam questions from a few years ago. I figured it'd be useful for you to see an example of what your up against.'' 
I threatened lightly while turning away from him.
''w-wait! You ain't gunna help me?! He squawked.
Walking slowly towards his bedroom door I declined casually. ''nah, you'll be alright, the
Questions ain't that hard''
''I'll be back tomorrow morning, so you need to finish it by then, you can do that right?''
I teased again.
He cursed under his breath. '' I hope you get soaked and catch a cold!''
I couldn't help but laugh at his childishness as I left the room.
'' See ya tomorrow Rin~''
