It was a fine Saturday morning. The birds were tweeting, and the summer sun was unusually bright. Natsuki rolled out of bed, hardly able to contain herself for what was going to happen today.
She was finally going to confess her love to Yuri.
She put on her best outfit, a beautiful, summery, lilac dress, that covered her overt figure. She wanted Yuri to see everything. Even her flaws....
Natsuki went up to her mirror, and fashioned her beautiful sunset pink hair. She pulled her bows and headbands and let her hair naturally fall around her face. She looked very different, as she was used to wearing these cute bows for a majority of her life, but for today, she decided to shed them for a much more serious event.
She stumbled anxiously down the stairs, and out of the door of her father's apartment.
♡♡♡
Meanwhile, Yuri was frozen. Her hand was stuck on the doorknob, as though she didn't know how to turn it, and her posture was stiff.
How can I go to Natsuki? I'll make a fool out of myself....
She breathed. In and out.
No. I can do this. Natsuki.... wouldn't judge me like that.... not anymore....
Yuri opened the door. The summer breeze caught her long sleeved, pale pink dress, and made it swirl all around her. Yuri's long, violet hair twirled like a tornado, until the blast of wind calmed, letting her dress and hair settle down.
Yuri suddenly let out a happy, excited laugh, and ran over to the place they had agreed to meet.
Once Yuri got there, she realised Natsuki had already arrived. The soft, pink petals fell all around her, as though she were a beautiful, wilting flower.
Yuri's heart pounded.
She carefully sat down beside her love, and sighed.
"Y-Yuri...."
She gazed at Natsuki. "W-what is it?"
"I...." Natsuki sighed. "I know... that I... always messed things up....and that I made you...feel bad.... but....I did that.... f-for a reason...."
Yuri stared at her, and nodded.
"I-it's because....b-because.... I...." Natsuki growled. "Ugh!! Why is it so hard to say this??"
Natsuki put her hand on Yuri's heart. "H-haven't you felt it too, Yuri? Those butterflies.... that uncontrollable feeling....?"
Natsuki continued on. "Because.... I've felt it too....and it's because...."
Natsuki sighed one last time, before the words she had wanted to say ever since she met Yuri finally slipped out of her mouth.
"I love you...."
Natsuki's cheeks flushed tomato red, as she awaited Yuri's response. She had never felt so desperate, so worried, so sick in her entire life.
Yuri's heart pounded uncontrollably.
Natsuki.... loves me...?
Yuri gulped, before sighing. She had to tell the truth.
"I just want it to be us, Natsuki. Forever... I love you more than anything..." Yuri whispered, grinning foolishly. It felt so good to let that out.
There was a silence, as the blossom petals slowly fell around them.
"I'm glad..."
Yuri and Natsuki laughed together. Natsuki leaned in closer to Yuri, and Yuri did the same.
The pairs lips met, and it felt as though fireworks were exploding around them. Reality melted, and it felt like only the starry universe remained. It was just them now.... forever....
Or was it?
