One week.
One week since Neil had spoke to her.
One week since she had been at work.
And one week since she had been trying to capture this new enemy.
Maybe, it was because Neil was on her mind, maybe it was because she had lost her touch or maybe it was because the enemy had outsmarted her.
It seemed, there were way to many maybes in her life, the only certain thing she knew, was what she would hold onto.

She had to tell him. She just had to.
"Neil" she called, banging on the bedroom door
He pulled it open, his hair ruffled, his eyes half open
"What" he bit back, he groaned as Avni pushed him out of the way
"You havent left this room in a week, enough"
He wanted to argue about how he had left to shower etc, but right now he just wanted to bask in her presence, god, he had missed her

Avni opened the blinds in the room, she turned to face him, hands on her hips "Get ready, you have 10 minutes"
"But, where are we going"
"Youre going to sit in the garden with me and eat breakfast"
"Dont you have work"
"You're more important" she tried to walk past him when he grabbed her arm
He had no idea what to say, but he wanted to say something.
Maybe an apology, but that would never be enough.
"Ive missed you habibi"

"You have" she asked, all it took was a nod from him and she jumped into his arms, nearly knocking him back "Because, ive missed you to, I just didnt want to say incase you thought I was being clingy, but I wanted to give you space, but I have been with you, I sit outside when im lonely and its like im with you, you know outside the bedroom" she paused "Why are you looking at me like that"
"Looking at you like what" he mused

"I dont know, like im talking to much"
He chuckled "Thats because you are"
She gasped loudly "I do not talk to much, I just had a lot to tell you, you haven't spoken to me in a week" she cleared her throat, he hadnt spoke to her in a week, so why was he now?
"Uh, breakfast" she muttered, then walked out of the room
He jumped as he heard the door slam behind her

Avni served him food, she sat before him, waiting for him to start eating.
Come on Avni, say something, say something. She wanted to speak, but wasnt prepared for how awkward this was going to be.
He looked up "Thanks, the food is really great"
"Do you want a divorce"
"Excuse me" he replied
"Well, you just are so distant and if you're not happy, that's fine, I would just rather know"

"I am going to bend you over this table if you ever say anything like that again"
"Neil" she admonished, her voice squeaky
"Habibi" he replied "I dont want a divorce and I never will want one, I just needed time to deal with some stuff, that was all"
"And , you're okay now, right, you won't shut me out again"
Neil looked up at Avni as she tried to compose herself
"Please dont cry because of this, im an idiot" he reached out for her hand, but she pulled it away
"I have to go to work" she stood up, walking past him and went to get ready

"This enemy has agreed to meet us Joseph" Avni squealed happily "We can get him"
Joseph nodded "Were gonna send you alone"
"Alone" she gulped "But what if he doesnt come alone"
Joseph tapped her shoulder "You can do this"
Avni really didnt feel like she could, "ill be back in a second"
She walked outside, calling Neil

"Come on, pick up"
She rolled her eyes at his message "Neil, I need to tell you something before I go back into work, I dont know if ill come back out alive and I need you to know that bihibak" she sniffed loudly wiping her tears "I always have and always will, please dont forget me" she cut off the phone as she released a sob
She turned on her heel, taking a deep breath and walked to her car

Avni stood in the midst of the lonely road, her arms crossed, a truck pulled up, she blinked as the man walked towards her
"Neil, what are you doing here"
She gasped as he grabbed his chain from around her neck and it fell to the floor
"Why did you do that, Neil"
He sneered "If you havent already worked it out, I am the enemy you're waiting for"
"Neil, now isnt the time to play games, come on" she tried to reach out for him when he grabbed her wrist, spinning her around so her back hit his chest

"Neil" she struggled in his hold "This isnt a game, someone really dangerous is coming, his name is"
"Neo" Neil finished, Avni froze in his hold and it took everything Neil had to not apologise for his behaviour
"You, you wouldnt do that to me" she whispered
All those times he had been so kind, so loving, so protective- what had changed?
"Wouldnt I, I left you for two years, what more can i do"
He lifted her up, putting her in the truck, she didnt put up a fight

Avni looked around at the abandoned warehouse, she passed him her weapons
He raised his brow "They are no good for me, I cant use them on you anyway"
He took her weapons, opening the door for her "You stay in here"
She looked back at him, her eyes teary "Just one last time, can you"
He closed his eyes painfully "Goodnight habibi"
She smiled through her tears and walked into the room, falling against it at it slammed shut

Neil pulled out his phone, listening to her voicemail message
He gulped painfully, she had told him she loved him.
He walked slowly to outside of her room, his chest tight and sat outside the door, wishing he could take her pain away.
He reached his hand up, resting it on the door
"I love you to Avni" he whispered
