After about a two-hour drive, I was finally here. It was my first day at college. Today was the day that I finally leave high school behind, the stupid parties, my high school friends, well except my best friend, she and I both are going here for school. She unfortunately isn't my roommate because we both got our request into late. She was in one of the other dorms and her parent were driving her today.
I drove through the campus until I found the dorm the had said 'BAKER' over the main entrance. There were very few people here yet, but it was only ten in the morning. I pulled up to the curb, where there was a cute, tan, sandy blonde hair guy standing talk to another guy, who was darker with black hair, and dark brown eyes that were so dark that they looked black at first glance. They both had on tan shorts and sneakers and matching bright green shirts that had said R.A. in white on them.
I got out and looked around confused and a little lost. The one with the sandy blonde hair came up to me, "Welcome to Baker dorm. My name is Aaron." He extended his hand to me, I shook it. "I'm one of the sixth floor R.A., how can I help you?" he smiled, brightly.
I looked into his bright blue eyes and got all tongue tied. "Ashlynne is me." I blushed. "I'm a little lost on what to do."
"First year?" he asked, I nodded. "For starters, you need to go check in with one of the dorm advisors. They are set up over there." He pointed toward a table set up. There were three people sitting with papers in front of them and bins behind them. "The person is A to K, by last name. The second is L to S and third T to Z. I can show you if you'd like." He offered.
"Sure, that would be great." I smiled.
I followed him to the second person sitting at the table. The middle-age women looked up. "Name?"
"Ashlynne Smith." I said.
The women looked through the list and found my name and highlighted it. She then dug through the bin behind her and pulled out a book, keys, and a booklet. "Here are your keys. This is the code of conduct in which you must read and sign it, then turn it in by the fifteenth of the month to the front desk. If not turned in by then, it will result in a disciplinary action against you. Here is the code of conduct book." I took all the items placed in front of me. "Good Luck with your year."
I turned to Aaron who was standing a few feet behind me with a girl draped over him. She had the same shirt as him, but a denim skirt on. He didn't look so pleased by it. He kind of brushed her off and came back to me. "Everything go okay?" he asked, I nodded. "I can help you bring your stuff to you room if needed."
"Actually, that would be so great." I giggled. "My family couldn't help me because there are too many of us for us all to travel all at once" I smiled. He and I walked back to my car after he grabbed a cart.
"Yo, Josh," Aaron called to the guy he was talking to earlier. "Can you give us a hand over here if you are not to busy?"
He ran over to help. He looked at me and said, "I'm Josh, Aaron's roommate and sixth floor R.A." We all loaded the cart with my stuff, we got all of it in one try. Josh asked, as we walked to the elevator, "What floor are we going to?"
I looked at the page, "ummm... floor six. The room number is 615."
"Awesome," Aaron laughed, "That's across the hall from Josh and I. We are in 614."
I smiled. Josh pushed the cart down the hall after we got off the elevator. We walked past their room, the door had R.A. and their names in two different coloured circles, green and blue. We finally got to my room, it had my name and another name in pink and purple circles. I opened the after fumbling with the keys. Both Aaron and Josh laughed at me. I turned bright red, after I finally got the door opened.
