I dragged my feet along the concrete to get back home. As I wandered around the neighborhood to find any familiar landmarks. That's when I saw it, the very baseball field where my parents taught me how to play softball. I walked across the street, first checking to see if a car was coming. I sat on the bench and closed my eyes.
Flashback
"Keep your eyes on the ball sweetheart!" My mom yelled from behind the catcher's box
I readjusted my helmet and swang at the speeding ball. When the ball connected with the bat I squeezed my eyes shut. When I opened them I saw my dad scrambling to get the ball. I booked it to 1st base just before my dad got there, and I said what the heck might as well go for another one. That night we came home with dirt caked under our nails, grass stains, and huge smiles plastered on our face.
Present
I got up and wiped the dust off my hands and continued walking. Once I got near the porch I made out a tall figure leaning up against the post. I really thought about making a U-turn and living out the rest of my life as a sign spinner. I dragged my feet towards the step trying to think of what I should do,
"Hey...baby brother! Have I told you how much I love and appreciate you? I asked as I ran up the stairs to pinch his cheeks"Don't even try that crap, grandma was worried about you this morning. DUDE I HAD TO LIE TO HER! he screamed
I sighed and went up to my room on my way up I tried to text Chloe but she still didn't respond. Sometimes I feel like it's against the world and I'm taking a major butt whooping.
Sorry for the short chapter guys, school has been really stressful and one of my favorite groups finally released new music so that's what I have been spending most of my time doing.
