I opened my eyes to the darkness outside.
Why was I outside?
I got up and my head started throbbing immediately. I looked around to see that I was still at Anthony's. My phone showed it was 12:13.
Walking back inside the party is still going strong. I looked down to see my cup still half full. It had to be at least my fifth cup tonight. I quickly downed it in one gulp. Not to long after it hit me.
"THIS PARTY IS INSANE!" I screamed. I scared my self and immediately shut up.
Why am I so drunk? Oh yeah. Lightweight. GOT DAMNIT I KNEW I SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE FOR THE VODKA!
I started walking around feeling overly dizzy.
"Woah. Why is there two of everyone." I said feeling lightheaded. I was about to fall to the floor when suddenly I felt hands grab my waist.
"Let's get you out of here." I turned quickly to tell them off. I may be drunk but I was sober enough to know what was going on.
"GET YOUR HANDS O-" I stop mid sentence when I see who it was.
"RYLAND!" I screamed taking him into a big hug. Technically I only grabbed him around his waist since he was 6'0 and I was only 5'3.
Ryland has been my best friend since 1st grade. He left freshman year to move to Florida and he wasn't supposed to be back until the end of junior year.
He picked me up and hugged me. A little to tight.
"Hey Rose." He said his voice muffled by my hair.
"Your hair smells different." He stated setting me down. I gave him a funny look questioning him as to why he knows how my hair smells.
"It's my heat protectant." I told him.
"I missed you so much!" I said going in for another hug. This time he bent down and my arms went around his neck.
"I thought you were staying in Florida until the end of Junior year?" I asked.
"Yeah But I decided to come back to Washington before the end of sophomore year."
I let go and realized my drunkenness had faded.
"Where are your car keys?" He asked.
I handed them over and he grabbed my hand intertwining our fingers and pulling me to the door.
"Wait." I said stopping. "I have to get Clar-" But he stopped me before I could get her name out.
"She left with Asher a few minutes ago." He said rolling his eyes.
Of course she did. I rolled my eyes mimicking him.
Her and Gabe must've broken up then. Again.
We continued to push our way through the crowd and once we finally made our way out he helped me to the car and we quickly got in.
"I flew in this morning but I didn't tell you but I figured Claire would pull you to the party." He said backing out of the driveway.
I didn't say anything. I just smiled at him. The last time I've seen him was the beginning of freshman year. We cried for weeks. He snuck over my house every night up until the day he left.
Of course it wasn't any PG-13 stuff going on. He just stayed over and watched stupid movies with me all night. He was my best friend after all. My brother. We talked everyday. Up until this day we never stopped. I should have realized something was up when he didn't call me at 5 like he always did.
