Chapter 1 - Kiss

{Virgil's

P.O.V.}

I yawned for the 4th time this subject, I glanced at the wall clock on top of the whiteboard. 02:03. D*mm*t. 27 more minutes.

"Psst, Virge" my seatmate called out to me quietly. "What do you want Romano?" I hissed annoyingly "Stop staring at the window and listen to the teacher!" Roman scolded "Wait, what? Since when did you-- Oh, that's why." I realized the lesson was about Gods and Godesses. "So, who's you favorite Goddess or God?" He asked "I don't know, Zeus?" I answered, I don't know any other characters. I didn't listen to what Roman was babbling about then stared at the window again.

The sky was gloomy, there was rain but just the right force. There were a few trees that stood there, there was peace, it was quiet, it was- "Mr. Black? Are you with us?" Sir. Sawyer called to me, bringing me back to reality.
"Y-Yes" I stuttered out, Roman chuckled. "Where were the Olympians thought to live?" "Mt. Olympus" I said shortly. Sir. Sawyer continued to teach them. "How the fruit did you do that?!" Roman shouted to me, everyone turned to Roman. "Sorry" Roman apologized to the class. "Heard of the word 'reviewing'?" I told Roman with a sassy tone "You study?" He asked with a suprised look on his face "When I'm too lazy to cut my arms" I jokingly said. Roman's jaw dropped, "I was joking dum dum" I said rolling my eyes with a small smile, still facing the window.

"What's wrong with you today Virge?" I turned to him with a confused expression. "You're starting to make jokes, and you... smiled." He said in a worried tone "Am I not allowed to smile and joke around?" My head bowed and I frowned, I started to play with my pen. Me and Roman didn't talk the rest of the last subject.

Biiiiiiing!

"Class dismissed!" Our teacher told us while closing his book. I stood up then proceeded to pack up my things. "Virgil, I'm sorry." Roman said but I ignored him. "Patton and Logan wants to meet us under the oak tree later at 3." He said without life, Roman left the room leaving me and Sir. Sawyer inside the classroom.

I was about to leave the classroom when... "Mr. Black, can I have a moment?" Sir. Sawyer called me "Sure Sir!" I said softly "Did your parents paid for this semester?" He asked "I'm not sure" "Your name is still not on the Paid List and you still don't have a permit for the 3rd Semester, if you don't take that exam, I'm failing you. You're a smart kid Virgil, don't waste all that."

After Sir.Sawyer spoke to me, I left the classroom then went to the location Roman told me earlier. "2 minutes, 47 seconds and 2 miliseconds." Logan said as I approached them while tapping his smartwatch. "Hey, Kiddo!" Patton said hugging me, I didn't move. My cheeks tinted pink.

"Patton, you're just a month older than Virgil. Yes, you are older but you don't need to call him a kid. The gap between your age is not infinitesimal" Logan said professionally. Patton let go of me then frowned, "Logy,  the gap between our age IS infinitesimal" I told Logan still not changing my position "Infinitesimal means small, Mr. Perspicacious." I corrected him. Logan looked down,

"Hey, Rome. About earlier..." "I'm sorry" Roman said shortly then looked at me. Logan and Patton looked at both of us, confused,well of course Patton would be confused.  While me and Roman kept facing down. "I am so confused!" Patton shouted "Patton you're always confused" Logan said while reading a book.
