"you got this." ethan gave noelle a thumbs up to encourage her, but she only showed a sarcastic smile over her shoulder as he stood in the sand with his arms crossed. he gestured for her to keep moving forward toward his brother.
noelle looked forward, grayson coming closer the farther she walked, and she got more nervous by the second. she had no idea how she was going to go about this. maybe....trip in front of him, yeah, that's good, right? she begins to think that is absolutely ridiculous, but she never really has any excitement in her life. suddenly, she tripped over her own feet purposefully.
"oh my gosh, are you okay?"
grayson's voice is deep and hypnotizing, just like ethan's. with her face in the sand, noelle groans. she feels a hand in hers, and she's being pulled back to her feet, and her eyes meet with a pair of dark, hazel ones. she gulped, and the corners of his lips tugged up in a cute smile.
"thanks. sorry, i'm a little clumsy." noelle apologizes, looking to the ground as she pushes some hair behind her ear. grayson chuckles.
"i'm grayson." he introduces himself. i know, she thinks, but swallows the statement.
"i'm noelle." she steadies herself on her feet before outstretching her hand for him to shake. her heart tightens in her chest when grayson's palm comes in contact with hers, and she looks around, trying not to be too obvious, looking for ethan, but she doesn't see him.
"it's very nice to meet you, noelle."
"you too." her breath is short, and she's not sure what to do next. after a few moments of silence between the two, grayson speaks.
"you surf?" he asks her, gesturing to the board underneath his muscular arm. noelle shakes her head, almost of embarrassment.
"no..."
"swim?"
she shakes her head.
"cliff dive?"
again, she shakes her head no. grayson chuckles, and if comes from deep in his throat. she looks up and he pushes wet hair from his face, smiling a toothy smile at the girl.
"want me to teach you?"
