[ Alice POV ]
Sure, I had cigarettes, but it's not like they did anything for me. Why else would I ask for some alcohol, I needed a little taste, just to get me by. Before I came here, no, I was not an alcoholic, so I'll clear that up right now. But you see, I was a very close friend to my whiskey, vodka, whatever bottle, but I was not an alcoholic.
It was kind of funny actually. Girls at school who were my "friends" knew I drank, and they were some of the noisiest people about it. Sometimes they'd come over and I'd sometimes have a bottle of booze in my hand. God, it was annoying, but they'd question me after I'd take a few drinks. Note, I was never fond of any type of alcohol until I started losing my mind, then it became a great aspect of my life. So yeah, being the caring, considerate friends they were, they'd tell me about the awfulness of what I was doing. "Alcohol is a killer, Alice. It's poison and you know it. So why do it?"
And every time, my answer would be the same. I'd smile at them and take another drink before setting the bottle down on my dresser. "Well, you see, that's exactly the reason why I do it. Alcohol is poison, and there are things inside of me that I need to kill off."
That'd always shut them up. Now I know, you're thinking of what amazing, caring friends I had and that I'm just a bitch for thinking otherwise. But tell me, if they're such wonderful friends, where are they now? Course, that's not the only reason I put quotes around friends, because they really weren't real friends, but I refuse to go into detail of that.
Anyways, today was the day Louis promised to bring me some vodka, or whatever he decided to bring. And honestly, I'm planning to get totally drunk, to savor the feeling of forgetting about my problems and that I'm a mental patient for just a little while. Or maybe just because it was fun, I don't really know myself. We planned it all out, we'd go immediately after breakfast and stay there till lunch, a good few hours to kill. Plus, I know for a fact that patients don't like going anywhere in between breakfast and lunch, unless it's back to their cells for a few more hours of sleep. And I doubt any of them know we have a library, so bonus for us.
I scarfed down my breakfast a little too fast, but I didn't care really, I was ready to go. And sooner than I realized, we were all escorted to the common room, and I spotted Louis sitting at our usual table almost immediately. I rushed over and sat down in front of him, grinning like crazy. He laughed and I eyed his back pack sitting on the floor beside him, "Someone looks a little too happy to see me." I focused my attention on him now, laughing with him. "Hey, I'm always happy to see you, I'm just excited is all." "The things I do for you, and I just met you." We grinned at each other and I nodded, nudging the bag with my foot lightly. "So are you just gonna sit there or are you gonna ask?" Louis nodded and got up, walking over to Dillon. I got up and switched to Louis' chair so I could keep an eye on the bag and watched the conversation take place. I watched Dillon look over to me and I gave him a sweet smile, him smiling in return and turning back to Louis. Finally, Louis walked back over, a huge grin on his face. "C'mon. It's all set. He just said I have to make sure you're back in here 15 minutes before lunch." Louis grabbed his bag and slung it over his shoulder, walking towards the door with me trailing behind him.
Once we were out in the hallway, I laughed and beamed at him, punching his arm playfully as we walked. "I can't believe we're actually doing this, getting away with this!" "Shhh, calm down or the entire staff will hear you.." He grinned at me and lead me down several hallways that I'd never been down before. "This place is a hell of a lot bigger than I thought.." Louis nodded and we turned down another hall, particularly longer than most. "Yeah, I know, I work here and I still probably haven't seen even half of the place yet." We walked down another long hallway, all the way to the end, where there was a set of doors leading into the library. My eyes widened as we walked in, taking in the whole room. It was huge, shelves upon shelves were everywhere, and I'm sure it didn't take much to get lost. "Woah." I breathed out after forever. Louis grinned and nodded, walking towards the shelves. "Come onnn, we'll hide in the shelves near the back where we won't get caught okay?" I nodded and walked beside him, pretending I was looking at certain books until we were out of sight of the one librarian, who looked like he was falling asleep in his chair anyways.
