Chapter 7

Grayson's Pov

I got into m car and looked in the back and Mason was still asleep. I then thought Jessica just kissed me. I mean sure it was just on the cheek but that his more then nothing. I haven't felt like this about someone in ages.

Jessica's Pov

Next Morning

I woke up this morning at 9 in a pretty good mood. I went and took a shower but i didn't wash my hair. I got dressed into a grey calvin klein sports bra and some grey sweatpants.

 I put my hair in a messy bun. I didn't bother with makeup because i didn't feel like it. I got my vans on and then went downstairs. I that is when i remembered that i left my car at Grayson's house.

 I got my phone and then called Grayson "hello?" "Hey Grayson, i wanted to come over today, but i left my car there. I was wondering if you could pick me up." "Sure. I will be there in about 30 minutes." "Ok just text me when you are here." "Ok see you soon Jessica. Bye." "Bye." 

I hung up and then went to the kitchen and ate. I had just some cereal. When i was done i went to the living room and watched some tv. About 10 minutes later i got a text from Grayson saying he was here. I got my backpack purse and my phone.

 I got my grey light jacket and put that on unzipped. I then got my sunglasses. I put my backpack purse on and then my sunglasses. I walked out of my house and locked the door. I walked over to Grayson's car and got in. 

"Hey Gray." "Hey Jessica. How are you feeling." He began to drive "I am better." "Good." "Yeah. Where's Mason?" "Oh he is having a playdate with a friend of his and Ethan agreed to go for me because I knew you would need some company without a 3 year old running around." "thank you." "No problem." 

We were just driving when i had the urge to bake something. "Hey Gray can we stop at the grocery store." "Sure." A couple minutes later we were at the grocery store. We got out of the car and walked inside. 

I got a cart and then went to the bakery isle. I got stuff for double chocolate chip brownies and some mini marshmallows and graham crackers. I was making my special s'mores brownies which is just double chocolate chip brownies with a layer of marshmallow on top with a sprinkle of graham cracker crumble. 

I then went to the frozen isle and got a tub of vanilla ice cream. We got to the checkout and i paid for the food. We got to the car and i sat in the front next to gray and he said "So Mae, what are you making?" "Well Dolan i am making my special s'mores brownies." "Oh what is that?" 

I described them to him and he said "Well that sounds delicious." I giggled and then we continued to his house. We finally got there and we got out. I went to the kitchen right away and then started. Grayson sat at the counter. I put the apron on and then started to mix things up. 

"Hey Grayson, what happened with Alfred?" "Oh he retired. He was planning on retiring when we got a babysitter and when i or Abigail started to work at home more."

 I nodded and then asked Grayson "Hey Gray, Ethan told me about the whole cheating thing but you don't seem to love Abigail. How come? If you don't mind me asking." "Well i never loved Abigail. We dated for about a month and when i was going to break up with her, she told me she was pregnant. We told our parents and we had to get married. I was 18 almost 19 when that happened." 

"Gosh i can't imagine that. That must of been hard." "Yeah, but i got the best thing out of it. Mason is my everything and i don't know what i would do without him." "I get it." My dad is everything to me. My family is everything to me. I don't want to lose my dad. I felt the corners of my eyes begin to sting and then i felt a tear fall down my face. 

I put the brownies in the oven and then went back to the counter and looked down. I let some tears fall down my cheek. "Jessica are you ok?" I wiped the tear away and then looked up. I smiled weakly and he got up and gave me a hug.

 I cried a little into his shoulder and then i heard the door open. Abigail walked in and she yelled "What the hell is going on here?" Grayson and i seperated and i quickly wiped away the tears. 

Abigail came over to us and she looked at grayson and said "Why is she here? I thought Mason was staying with Ethan tonight." "She is having a little bit of problems and i was comforting her." 

"Well she has other friends." Before grayson could say anything i said "Um its ok i will go. Grayson the brownies are good heated up with a scoop of ice cream." More tears fell down my cheek and i got my stuff. Grayson then said "Jessica don't go." More tears fell down my cheek and then i quietly said "No i should go. I am going to see my dad." Before he could respond i ran out the door and quickly ran to my car. I got in and drove and cried.

Grayson's Pov

Jessica ran out the house. "What the hell abigail?" "What she shouldn't be here if she doesn't need to work." "I was comforting her. She is going through tough stuff right now and she needed a friend to comfort her." "Bull shit. I know you were going to fuck!" " I am sorry Abigail, but unlike you i don't want to fuck every person i meet!" 

All she did was scoff and run out the house. She shouldn't of treated Jessica like that. She is just so insensitive all the time. She barely cares about Mason anymore. Jessica cares about Mason. Mason loves Jessica and i think i love her too.

Jessica's Pov

I went to the hospital to see my dad. My dad and i are very close so i tell him everything. I got to his room and i asked my mom to give me and my dad some privacy. She left and closed the door. I sat down in the chair next to my dad and held his hand in mine. 

I began to cry a little and then i began to talk to him "I know you are in a coma and probably can't hear me but i need to talk to someone. So there's this guy. He is so sweet and nice and i couldn't ask for a better person to know. He is cute and i love to hang out with him. The only thing is that he is married with a kid. I know what you are thinking like this guy is 30 or something but he is actually 22 and he got married to this girl he doesn't even love at 18. I think i am in love with him dad. I'm in love Grayson and i don't know what to do." 

I cried into my dad's hand and then a soft voice said "If he cares about you and is there for you, you will know if he is worth your love." I shot up when i heard that and saw my dad with his eyes open slightly and all i could say was "Dad!" I gave him a light hug and then went out to tell my mom. We were both excited that he finally was up. I thought about what he said and he was right.
