Izzie's POV:

It's been a long time since i've been in Seattle. It's been what, almost 3 years? A lot has changed in 3 years. I have been officially declared cancer free and only go back to the oncologist once a year to make sure everything is in good shape. A lot more has happened too. A lot more that can change mutiple lives, forever.

"Hey, do you know where I can find Dr. Karev?" I said when I walked into the pediatric ward at Grey Sloan Memorial. I did a little digging and found out that Alex decided to specialize in Peds which was a hell of a suprise considering he had his heart set on plastics. You know because that's hardcore.

"He's with a patient now. Can I ask why?" the nurse asked.

"Just let him know someone's looking for him, i'll be in the attendings lounge." I said and proceded to slowly walk into the attendings office.

Alex's Pov:

"Make sure Robbins knows I checked off on this kid, he'll be fine, we just have to keep an extra close eye on him." I said to a nurse.

"Got it, hey, a tall blonde came looking for you. She said to meet her in the attendings lounge when you get a minute." the same nurse that talked to Izzie said to me.

"Did this tall blonde have a name or..?"

"Dr. Karev, she said to go meet her there, and being that i'm a woman I know we don't like to wait and she's been wiating for almost a half hour and I know you can take 5 minutes out of your day to see someone so go to her." the nurse said back to me in a very rude tone.

"Fine." I said as I walked away at a faster pace than usual to the attendings lounge.

As I got there, I noticed the door was slightly open and there was a tall blonde setting her stuff in a locker.

"Are you the tall blonde, looking for me?" I asked.

She turned around and I just froze. I could'nt speak, I could'nt move. I was just looking at her.

"Alex... we need to talk... it's... important." Izzie said to me.

Izzie's POV:

"Can we get lunch or something?" I asked

"Why? You can't just tell me what's so important here?" Alex said in a snotty tone.

"I mean if you want me.." before I could finish my sentence Alex cut me off.

"Iz, tell me, trust me I can handle anything." Alex said in a some what caring way, shockingly enough it sounded sincere.

"I'm pregnant." I said, just flat out said. Didn't hesitate, just flat out said it.

"Wh-Wha-What? I mean... how?" He said, as he started turning pale and looked rather sickly.

"A couple months ago I went and did IVF, you know with your donation you gave when I was sick and we figured we'd be together forever. Yeah and no one expected to have it take the first round but it did and I was only going to do one round and..." I was interrupted by the sound of Alex throwing up in the trash can next to the door.

"Alex, what the hell is wrong with you?" Meredith asked as she walked into the lounge, before looking right into my eyes and walking away.

"Are you okay?" I asked Alex.

"Yeah, i'll be fine. Just shocked. How far along are you?" Alex asked me.

"12 weeks, I don't know for sure some time around there. Montgomery coming out because she's the best and I wanted the best."

"Guess you're in luck that I sub-specialized in ob because that's where we're going right now." Alex said.

"Are you serious? It can't wait two days for Addison to get in town?"

"Absolutely not, I want to know. I have that right." Alex said. I knew he was right I just.. didn't want to admit it.

"Fine let's go."

About 30 minutes later we finally we're able to smuggle an ultrasound machine away from the ob wing so we could do this without anyone finding out.

Alex's POV:

The whole time i'm doing this ultrasound, i'm thinking about all the horrible things I could see. It's almost impossible for anything to be wrong, Iz is healthy and she's young. i just am worried ya know.. it's apart of life.

"You said you found out how long ago?" I asked.

"Like 2 weeks ago. Why?" She answered me back with a slight concern.

"Don't worry nothing's wrong I just wanted to make sure i'm estimating this correct." I said back to her in a calming way.

As I finally got a good view at the baby a slight smile came across my face. Izzie noticed, I could tell. as soon as I started smiling she did too.

"Looks about 10 weeks, right on track with development, and totally healthy. Here, I printed out some pictures." As I turned around in my chair and helped her off the bed.

"Thanks, you're pretty good at this. You had some amazing training."

"I did, one of the best. Where are you staying?"

"I don't have anywhere right now. Shepherd just gave me my job back, specializing in neuro. I have nowhere right now."

"Meredith and Derek finally built that damn dream house in the woods on the mountain thing, and she gave me her old house so I have plenty of room. Stay with me for a while."

"That would be nice." Izzie said with a slight smile at the end and hugged me. It was instinct to hug her back.
