First of all I must say I appreciate all the support that I have been receiving for this book and sorry for not providing regular updates for book 2. The thing is I'm not a colledge student and every now and then life is a bit hectic so always busy focusing on my studies but now since I have a couple free time I've decided  want to finish book 2 but I will be replacing the current one I started out with a new version becuase honestly I was randomly writing chapters without a proper plot in mind.

This new book will be called for now, UnTamed and I'll be releasing a couple chapters in this week. This book will of course highlight the return of Bulzar and how the Shredder family deal with him.

Well....Sort of.

And now I'm going to give you with the first chapter of the book. I would like to hear your views on what you think of it so far.

Prologue

As instructed I knocked twice before entering his office where the messenger told me I would find him.

I found him sitting on one of the black leather armchairs playing chess with himself in a dimly lit corner of the room. I was confused as to why he did not greet me by the door with his usual kind smile or hug, and for some reason his behaviour today, seemed off. My thoughts began to intensify when I watched him gulped down a bottle of cold scotch. Something I've never seen him done before. Once finished he shamelessly smacked his lips and gestured for me to sit in the other black armchair across from him. I slowly made my way to the chair and sat down, being careful to tuck the hem of my dress underneath my legs before crossing them.

"U...Uncle Michael?"

"Mhm..," he hummed as he started arrange the skilfully crafted wooden chess pieces into their starting positions, making the pawns for each side their first line of defence. I then watched him make the first move with his white knight and I took it as an invitation to play with him so I moved a black pawn two spaces forward. After four more moves he finally decided to speak.

"Lilly, have you ever been on a battlefield?" I shook my head no after making a move.

"Ah, what a shame I thought your mother of all people would allow you to get your first taste of war," I then hesitated on my next move. Of course she would have done that but because I was so weak my parents always left me behind with one of my siblings to watch over me because I was so scared of the sight of blood.

"Yes. She did wanted me to come but I always refused," I internally cringed when his pawn captured my queen that I carelessly left unprotected.

"But you are aware of the upcoming war right?" I looked at my uncle for the first time since I've been in the room, "w...what war?"

"Surely, you must have noticed. Your little nation your parents worked so hard to build is about to crumble. Your people are getting restless, they no longer want anything to do with us especially you, Lilly. The mate of a demon lord." He titled his head back as he laughed. His laughter echoed across the room while I stood in my chair trembling, feeling every wavelength vibrating within my bones. I wasn't sure if he was right but this side of him that I have never seen before is making me nervous. The more I looked at him the more I see similar features he shared with my mother but unlike her, he was a kind, gentle and quiet man who deals with planning and information gathering for my parents.

"Ah my dear Lilly I must thank you for this, it has been so long since I've seen hell on a battlefield and to think that our enemy is none other than Bulzar himself," he said before putting my king in check.

"U..Uncle what has gotten into you?" my voice sounded desperate as I looked at him with pleading eyes.

No...no...no...no...no

Who is this man?

And more importantly where is my sweet Uncle?

I made another move with my king without thinking. "I must tell you a secret that I have always hid from others," he slowly moved his bishop across the board making the base of it scarping against the wooden board disrupting the tension in the room before it landed with a soft click putting my king in check again. My stomach churned as I looked into the eyes of my Uncle.

My older sister, Alexia, once told me that the eyes act as the gateways to one's soul and in this moment I no longer saw the eyes of the uncle I once knew but instead I saw the eyes of a real monster.

I made another attempt to protect my king by placing a pawn in front of his bishop's line of attack.

"I'm in love with war," he said with a sinister smile spread across his face, "especially the ones that I win," he said after moving his queen and just like that.

Checkmate.
