Valeria

     It was Orientation day and the gang decided to meet up at Ruby's house to walk together. I put on my Mexico long sleeves jersey, some Adidas sweat pants and my Adidas Predator indoor shoes. I guess you can say I'm a tom boy but I dress how ever I want and no one can change that. Some times I would wear what people call "girly girl" clothing but like I said, that's when I feel like it. I jogged to his house and walked into the house with out knocking. I already saw that Jamal was there and we were just waiting on Monse and Cesar. Something about them being late seemed suspicious but I quickly ignored the thoughts when Monse barged in. 

     "Cesar said what?!" she yelled. She went straight to Jamal and grabbed him by his collar, "Tell me now Jamal" she threatened him. Ruby quickly came running out of his room and got in between them. 

     "Val help me out here" cried Jamal. I laughed to myself and pulled Monse off of him. After she was off of him she began yelling how she needed to talk to Cesar and how they betrayed her by not telling her what he said yesterday. Ruby then tried to explain but Monse ran off. The boys stayed there looking out the door while I went out to look at her. 

     "Uhm guys, she went down the block towards that one house" I told them. They quickly sprinted after her but they got there too late. She was hunched over talking too someone in a shiny red car. The car was beautiful and as I got near the boys I could see Cesar inside in the passenger seat. I tried to get a good look at who was driving, but I accidentally made eye contact with the older man. He was bald, mean looking, with tattoos on his arms but dang was he good looking. He smirked at me and signaled me to come over.

     "Ven aquí hermosa" he called me. Smooth.

     I walked over and stood next to Monse. I stayed quiet not wanting to talk to him but wanting to hear what he had to say. 

     "You're a fine ass hyna," he said, "you new around here?" I looked at Ruby for help but he just shook his head. 

     "Yeah actually"I replied quietly. He smiled at my shyness and oh god my knees went weak. I turned away to hide my blush and he looked back out to the street ahead of him. 

     "My name is Oscar, I'll make sure you remember it well hermosa" he told, "good bye princesa." I stood back and watch him drive away. Ruby and Monse quickly dragged me over to the sidewalk. 

     "Val," Ruby snapped in front of my face, "oh no. She fell for him. Oh no no no no Valeria. Not him. You cant like him. Oscar is bad news. That's Cesar's brother aka Spooky. Who owns the Santos gang. Big no Valeria. No no no no no." He kept on rambling but I just ignored him. He's the leader of the Santos gang. My feelings for him suddenly went away because I needed to make him wrapped around my finger to make Freeridge mine. I cant have feelings for some dumb cholo get in the way. Maybe after I become the new leader of Santos then I might get into a relationship. I will do anything to make the city mine. Even if it means I have to kill pretty boy. I look back at Ruby to see him yelling at Monse now who was yelling at Jamal. She stormed off after saying a few words. Ruby and Jamal awkwardly stood there not knowing what to do next until they both gabbed each of my wrists and dragged me back to Ruby's house. 

     "Gatorade?" asked Ruby. I nodded and sat with Jamal on the porch steps. Ruby came back and handed us our Gatorade in a brown bag. I didn't question it and drank my free Gatorade. It was quiet and all we did was look at the sun set. 

     "So what was that back there" I tried to break the silence. They shook their heads and sighed. 

     "Monse is just over exaggerating and acting loca" he said. I nodded in response and got up. Well we never made it to school but they told me it was okay. I said goodbye and walked back to my house by myself. The sky was turning purple, I always liked to think that God was painting the sky, mi abuelo told me that before he died. I smiled to myself and hugged my arms as a cool breeze went by. I was a good few houses away until I heard a car honk behind me. I turned around to see his piercing eyes looking at me. I scoffed at him and turned back to continue walking until I realized that he was the leader of los Santos. I walked back to his side making sure to move my hips. 

     "May I help you?" I asked him bending down to his height. He smirked at me once again. 

     "Whats your number hermosa?" he said. I rolled my eyes at his nickname for me. 

     "Give me your phone," I replied.

      He smiled and handed me his phone unlocked. I quickly made myself as a contact and gave it back to him. 

     "Oh its Valeria by the way" I said to him walking away. I could hear him chuckling before driving up again behind me. 

     "Goodnight princesa" he told me before driving away. I entered my house trying to hide my blush from my family who didn't seem to care. I entered my room and sat on my bed deciding whether to text him or not. I put my phone to charge and decided that he should text me first.
