Why Don't We/ Unexpected

Chapter 2

It was Tuesday Moring around 10 o’clock and saw on Instagram stories that Eben was walking in the streets of Seattle.

Alaska quickly got on black jeans and a white hoodie.  She grabbed her key card and of course her head phones. She ran out of the building heading to the donut place that Eben was heading to and Alaska looked left and then right and saw that it was just a couple blocks away.

She started running making sure to watch where she was going so she doesn’t get hit by a car. She saw the Krispy Kreams just one more street, she ran as fast as she could.

She finally got there opened the door out of breath. She looked threw the whole place and saw the back of Eben’s hair. She was shaking so much, not just because of how fast she ran and not having any food yet. But she was just so nervous.

She went to the counter and asked if she could get an original donut. She pointed to where she would sit at. Alaska slowly walked up to where he was. Not knowing what to do. She finally gets to his table and he turns to Alaska and says, “Hello.”

“Hi Eben,” She barely let out.

“You okay?”

“No, I ran all the way from like 4 blocks away.”

“Oh my,” he laughs.

“Do you mind if I could sit down?”

“No of course I would love to eat with a fan.” He smiles. I smile at him and sit across from him.

“So, how are you?” I ask.

“tired, I didn’t get you name?”

“Oh, its Alaska,” she smiles.

“That is an amazing name.”

“Well so is yours” she laughs
The both of you laugh for awhile and talk.
“So, are you going to the show tonight?” Eben asks.

“I wish, but I did not have enough money that’s why I came down to Seattle and maybe I could see you guys.”

“What do mean down here you don’t live here?”

“No, I live 2 hours north from here”

“So, you drove here just to maybe see one of us”

“Uh yeah”

"Wow I love you”

“I love you to Eben.”

His phone starts to go off. He opens it and answers the call. “hello”
I sit here quietly just finishing my donut.  He finishes the call.
“Hey Alaska, I'm sorry but I have to go back to the bus.” He gets up and so do i. we give each other a hug and I’m trying not to cry and I can feel my nose start to burn. “maybe ill see you again" he continues.

“yeah maybe," I smile we got a picture too.

“hey Alaska, I probably shouldn’t say this but me and the boys are going out to lunch at boomers around 2 you should come so you can meet the boys since you came all the way down here with out a ticket.”

“oh, my gosh that would be amazing, why are you so amazing?”

“Idk”

“Bye Eben.”

“bye Alaska”

I check my watch and see that its 11:15, I walk this time to the hotel. I took a shower and put on the same jeans but a blue hoodie this time. Its now almost 12. I just grab my sketch book lately I have been drawing the boys so I'm going to bring it with me, but I haven’t drawn Eben so I'm going to do that right now.  I set an alarm for 1:50. I suddenly heard 'on my way' and the beautiful voices. I text my mom telling her what I'm doing and where I'm going. She has been working since 8. And some how she is okay with it. I walk out of the building  to where Eben told me to go. I walk in to see if any of them are here and I don’t, so I sit on the bench. People asking if I want a table I decline every time. Its now 2:10 and still no one, 2"18 and the doors open I look to my left and see them in all their glory. I feel my cheeks getting red just looking at them they all are talking, and I see Eben and we make eye contact and smiles a big smile and waves at me, he goes through the boys and comes up to me.
“hey Alaska,” and he hugs me.

“Hey Eben, I'm here!” I say in the corner of my eyes I hear all the boys slowly start to stop talking and staring at us. Eben sees it too.

“Oh sorry, guys this is Alaska the girl I was talking about who I met at the donut place who is a fan of ours.” Eben tells the boys.
