Aliyah POV
The next morning, I couldn't really remember what happened. When I woke up I was wearing completely different clothes and all of my makeup was off. The sound of Angel of Mine by Monica was playing on the radio while the sun was beaming in my face, and Chey was cleaning everything up in my house. I wasn't really sure how I got in my room but I'm sure Chey put me there. The first thing I saw when I walked out my bedroom door was Chey moving the vacuum back and forth, wearing nothing but some pajama shorts and a bra. Starting to laugh after noticing me with an obvious look of confusion on my face she yelled over the music,
"Bitch, finally your drunk ass is awake"
I replied, "shut up, why you so loud in here?"
"Oh my bad, I just didn't want you waking up to a dirty house"
"Thanks", I said while plopping on the couch
"but what happened with you and your girl last night in the bathroom?"
As I began to give Chey's all the juicy details of last night, the memories started to come back. I remembered everything and Chey couldn't believe it. I told her the entire story while we ate some breakfast and slummed it all day. By the time I checked my phone I'd had a few missed calls from my dad and two unread messages from Cameron. Scared to open the texts I quickly threw the phone to Chey and told her to look first.
Being the nosey best friend, she gladly opened the message for me and read it out loud, "sorry Aliyah, I shouldn't have let you kiss me last night it was a big mistake. Don't ever talk to me again."
With a distraught look on my face, I told Chey to stop playing so much and tell me what the message really said. Grinning she finally told me the truth, Cam asked to basically take me on a date.
...
The weekend passed and it was now the day before Wednesday. Me and Cam had been texting every day and talking on the phone almost every night since the night of the party. She was like becoming the other half of me. Even though I was a year older than she was it was almost like she was helping me to break out of my shell. I was pretty excited about our date and I was hoping she was as well. Because we would be near the beach Cam told me to dress comfortably and warm so, I did exactly that. The next day came and I decided to wear black Nike leggings, a maroon Nike hoodie that fit me perfectly, and maroon huarache's. My hair was in a bun like it always was and I had on no make-up. Cam was coming to pick me up and I couldn't wait to see her.
CAM POV
After Aliyah left that bathroom, I'd left the party. The rest of the night she was the only thing I could think about, especially after the way she kissed me. I got home before Santana so, when she walked through the door I told her everything that happened. She asked me what I was going to do about it because it was clear at this point that I was really feeling Aliyah. I told Santana I was going to ask Aliyah out on a date but I had no idea what to say.
After constantly typing and deleting messages I finally decided to just be honest
Me: You were right, I do like you a lot and I was wondering if you would let me take you on a date.
I sent the message and it seemed like forever had passed before Aliyah replied to me. Finally, my phone rang and she replied saying she'd love to go out with me. I decided I would take her to the Pier because it wasn't too much of an intimate first date. More than anything I always wanted our friendship to come first. She decided we could go that Wednesday after she'd gotten off work and I agreed.
...
Since the night of the party, in my mind, Aliyah was the only girl in the world. So mature and chasing her dreams, she was everything I wanted in a woman. My mind was constantly racing and unsure of what the future would bring, Aliyah was like a breath of fresh air to me. She both calmed my mind and kept me on my toes. I told her the date would be casual and she should dress warm because the weather would be cold. The day we were set to hang out I decided to dress simple but nice. I wore a navy-blue Jordan fleece sweatsuit and a pair of all grey Jordans. My hair was in a bun to the back with a part down the middle. After getting dressed I headed out to go pick Aliyah up.
.....
When I got to her house all I could do was smile as she approached my silver 2015 Toyota Camry that was parked out front. I held the door open for her as she sat in the car and we were on our way. While we were in the car I let her control the music and all she wanted to do was listen to the new Bryson Tiller that'd just dropped. She was such a freaking simp most of the time, but I didn't mind. We got to the beach and it was cold but not freezing, plus the sun was still out so it wasn't too bad. When we got there, we walked around and played a few games then we sat down to eat. While we both ate a slice of cheese pizza and a side salad we began to talk. She asked me to tell her about myself but I honestly didn't know what to say. Instead of staying silent, I told her she could ask me three questions and I'd answer them.
"how long have you been playing ball?", was her first question.
"I've been playing since I was three"
"Well what made you choose Cal State over other schools?"
"It was close to home and I have to stick around to help my dad with the twins sometimes"
"Okay last question, why are you single?"
"Because I don't play games"
After she asked me what I meant by that I told her that basically I'd been played before and even though I was only 22 years old I knew what I wanted from a relationship. I also told her that being with someone and staying loyal meant a lot to me, because I don't just let anyone in my life. We continued to talk, played more games after eating, and headed home.
Aliyah: The drive to The Pier was nice, she let me control the music and the drive wasn't too bad. We played a few games once we got there, including the basketball shooting game, and I won. I knew she was underestimating me but I won anyway and let her keep the prized bear. We sat down to eat and she agreed to let me ask her three questions so I did, then she asked me three...
"Did you play basketball in high school or something?", she asked
"No, I was a cheerleader. But I can play a little bit"
"Okay well, why are you always so quiet?"
"Because I overthink everything so, I'm always in my head"
"...And what are you thinking right now?"
"I'm thinking I like what I see"
As we continued to talk Cam told me more and more about herself. She told about how because she's the oldest she had to me like a mother to her younger siblings. Though she grew up in poverty and I didn't, I felt like we still had so much on common. Both going to college to escape our home life and create for ourselves. She didn't usually talk much about herself but with me it was different and I could tell. Eventually, we left and she dropped me off back at my house. She came over to open the car door for me like she'd been doing all day and I stepped out, onto the curb. Now standing face to face.
"I'll call you when I get home baby girl, promise", she said while hugging me.
Before she let me go she kissed me then watched me walk in the house.
Cam: I'm home and alive
Aliyah: lol drama but good to hear
Cam: I had a good time with you
Aliyah: As did I and the pizza was good but can I make dinner for you?
Cam: Uhh hell yes you can, when?
Aliyah: tomorrow night?
Cam: Okay, yes ill comes over. What do I need to bring?
Aliyah: Bring yourself and an overnight bag pls.
