CAMERON POV

The basketball season has started and Aliyah has done her best to be at my games so far. Because it's only pre-season, most games have been home or in the surrounding area. I told Liyah that I'd never ask her to come to one of my games I would just give her the schedule and if she had time she was always welcome to show up. I had a home game today but we lost by five. I got fouled out and was pretty frustrated about the entire game. Me and Aliyah went to eat at Wing Stop afterward and she could tell I was frustrated. Even though I try my best not to be in these moods after a bad game I can't help it. While we were waiting for our food to come she started talking to me...

"Babe, tell me what's on your mind"

"Obviously that stupid ass game that we shouldn't have lost"

"I know but what about it is still on your mind"

"I feel like it's my responsibility to make sure we win and I let my team down by getting fouled out"

"You are clearly a key player, but the game is a team effort," Aliyah said as she got up from her seat across from me and moved to the seat next to me.

"That's true but, it's still on my mind", I mumbled with a frown on my face

I know Aliyah was trying to make me feel better but she would never be able to truly relate. As I continued to frown she looked at me and told me she was always proud of me no matter if we won or lost. Then she pulled my hood off my head and kissed me on the cheek twice. She always did it twice, I didn't know why but, it was one of her things and I didn't mind. Our food came out and we headed back to my dorm room.

ALIYAH POV

Cam's season had just started and it was getting hectic for us. Between her practices and my new internship, plus school for both of us, our time spent together was scarce. Cam never invited me to her games, she said it was because she knew I would be too busy to come but. I know it was because she didn't want to be let down. If she invited me and I wasn't able to come that would hurt her pride. She had a game tonight and they lost, we went to eat after but she was in such a bad mood we got our food to go. I tried to make her feel better by talking it out but I quickly learned that she was less of a talker and more of a self-comforter. So, I decided a little silence was best. We got our food and headed back to her dorm room. The car ride was quiet for the most part and so was the walkthrough campus to her room. Once in the room, we ate, she showered then we watched her favorite movie, Love Don't Cost a Thing. My baby didn't even finish her food because she was so much in her thoughts. She was so distracted that even when I offered to take a shower with her she declined. While watching the movie, there wasn't much talking just Cam laying on my lap while I sat up and played in her hair on the bed. She started to fall asleep so, I thought it was best that I head out. We'd spent the night together before but only at my place never in her dorm. Not because I didn't want to but, she'd never asked. I started to get up and get my things together to walk out the door, as I stepped off the bed she started to talk...

"Babe?"

"Yes"

"Can you uhh stay with me tonight?"

Shocked, I answered, "I can but are you sure, I don't want you to feel obligated to ask me to stay?"

"Yes, I'm sure", she whispered as she sat up. "Please stay."

"Of course, I can stay"

After telling her I could stay over I just stood there, stuck. She pulled me closer while she still sat on the bed, hugged me, and laid her head on my stomach. "Thank you baby", she said while her arms were still wrapped around me. I kissed her on the forehead and told her that's what friends are for. I said "friends" because we were still not officially together yet. I didn't want to force her into anything but I wanted her to be my girlfriend, badly. After our moment, she gave me shorts and a t-shirt to sleep in and we went to bed. I held her instead of her holding me because I felt like she needed me more than I needed her tonight.
