Semi-god

For eons the gods have been creating this humanity. Their tales of folly and great fortune have accumulated throughout time with the aid of humanity. They would have been forgotten if it weren't for us; the demigods. We carry memories far greater than any humans, unthinkable powers and abilities, but the thing we have that they do not is a burden. Sure, a man may lose his family, his home, his life even. However we carry something more: a purpose. A human is meant to survive until the next generation; to continue life. A demigod was not born with such a luxury. We are meant to complete a task, solve a problem that one of our parents had made; nothing more. Our life may be important, and it may be desired by some, but I did not ask for this. I can only accept my fate and make the most of this semi-god life that I have been given; nothing more.

The voices in my head distract me from my thoughts; invading my mind. I wish nothing more than to rid them from me and simply enjoy this moment of peace. The boy who was made from fear itself was the one to rid me of it. The voices began to chatter louder upon realizing this. They said things that could be nothing but cliché.

"How is this possible?"
"What are we going to do?"
"Are you guys seeing this?"
"Its a miracle!"
And so on.

One of the voices said something that caught my attention however, "Poseidon, you have to tell Zeus. We need to speak to him."

I was hit with a realization so quickly it were as if i was hit by a train. My eyes flash open. Letting go of Zagreus,  I began to speak to the voices.

"Excuse me."

No answer, perhaps they did not hear me.

"Posieden, I believe I said Excuse. Me."

The voice seemed to turn its attention to me. His presence froze my thoughts, then scrambled them like a raging ocean. However I must do this. I must control the sea.
