¤ we are broken ¤

I took a deep breath after cleaning myself up, and walked out the bathroom.

"Jo? you okay sweetie?" Dahvie asked me gently. "y-yeah sure, why" I stuttered. "you look really shaken up and pale" he frowned. he walked closer and looked me in the eyes. "you sure you're okay? you don't seem it, I just want to make sure you're happy..." I plastered on a fake smile before reassuring him that I was fine and no need to worry.

he had no idea...

I walked over to Jacky and hugged her. "okay?" she giggled. "I managed to eat the salad Jo, and I made you some too!" "ah that's brilliant sis! nah don't worry about me, I'm full haha" I giggled back at her.

she gave me an odd look but I dismissed it. come on, what was it with people today?

"you sure?" "yeah I'm sure" "well what can we do?" "I'm not sure yet, just keep a close eye on her, we can't let her get as bad as she used to..." "... where did I go wrong? I thought she was happy but.." no! don't you dare blame yourself!"....

okay then.  I walled into a weird conversation there. I wonder who Jayy and Ryan were talking about.. it couldn't be me surely? they can't have noticed that quickly!

I quickly went to my bunk and dove under the covers, just holding myself and thinking.

did I really make the wrong choice? I'd been better for years... I found my twin, and got a guy that loves me for who I am. how am I not happy with this? I don't know how to act, I don't know who to be anymore. I feel like an empty shell.

"hey darling I hope you're good tonight" Jayys voice sang to me as he approached my bunk. I felt him gently sit down and pull the covers back. I refused to make eye contact but when he said my name, my eyes automatically went to his.

"yeah?" "I know you're not okay, I don't know why, but I know you're not. I just wanted to remind you that I'm always going to be here for you and will always love you" I winced in sadness and he saw this, pulling me into a hug. I didn't know what to say, and he didn't either, but in that moment, no words were needed. our embrace was more than enough and in that moment, with him by my side I felt better, almost whole again.
