Chapter 3: Governors Ball Day 2

I woke up the next morning and my feet were killing me. Knowing I had nowhere to go for a while and that no one was paying us a visit this morning, I went out into the living room in my pyjamas.

I grabbed cereal, a bowl, and milk from the fully stocked (somehow) kitchen since Candy and Luc weren't making breakfast this morning. I poured myself a bowl of cereal and grabbed a spoon then sat next to Wilder on the couch.

He was on his computer looking at something pretty intently.

"You look super focused." I said.

He glanced over at me, smiled, and said, "I guess I am focused on something."

"What is it?"

"Nothing."

"Are we friends?"

"I guess."

"Well, then, as Eleven says in Stranger Things, friends don't lie. What is it?"

"What are you even talking about?"

"Stranger Things."

"Never seen it."

The entire room gasped. Everyone suddenly turned to Wilder.

"How in the world have you never seen Stranger Things?"

"I don't have Netflix."

"Monday night, everyone be here. We're binge watching season one so Wilder can see it and so we're ready for season two in October."

Everyone agreed to the binge watching session.

After breakfast, I took a shower and got ready. That day, I was wearing a pair of grey jeans with a baby blue, button-up, collared tank top that had small, pink, clip art mouths with the tongue out all over it. I paired it with pink tennis shoes and a pair of black sunglasses on my head. I tied my dad's old, army green jacket around my waist just in case it got chilly that night like it did the night before.

I walked out of my room and saw that almost everyone was ready to leave.

Before we left, I checked my emails and saw I had a new one from Miles.

Arty,

Your friends look and sound like cool people. I can't wait to meet them. You look so pretty in all of the pictures! I can't believe you met Chance the Rapper! When you meet Marshmello today, tell him I say hi. He's so cool!

It's still the same at home. By that I mean, Mom and Dad are still fighting everyday, still think I don't notice, and still haven't mentioned the fact that you're gone.

Counting the days until you come to Chicago in August. Have fun at the festival! Send more pics!

Love,

Miles

It was 10:30am so we decided we'd leave now for the ferry.

On the ferry, out of all of the acts, we decided to see Phoenix (for Dad), Childish Gambino, Wu-Tang Clan, The Head and the Heart (Mom would have killed me if I missed that), Marshmello, Car Seat Headrest (for Mike), and Saint Motel. In my opinion, it wasn't as exciting as the day before but still promising.

We had similar food the second day and got some hilarious pictures and videos of all of us failing at mini golf. I got selfies with everyone we saw that time because, to be honest, I liked them all a lot. I got a video of The Head and the Heart saying, "Hi, Momma Morgan!" and of Car Seat Headrest saying, "Hey, Mike!" to soften the blow when Mom and Mike find out where I've been.
