Key: This = subconscious
Is = brain
That = negative subconscious
Be warned: this is bad as always, but try to look past my awful writing skills.

Bullying. I covered it slightly in my slut shaming chapter, but I want to talk about it more directly.

Bullying is prevalent in today's society, specifically in middle and high school. People are constantly being put down for a variety of things, including race, gender, religion, sexuality, ext. At a certain point, the people being subjected to this form of discrimination start to believe what the bullies are saying. They might not realize it, but their subconscious begins to adopt these types of beliefs.

"You're looking better than last week. Could still loose a few pounds, though. Not like it would make any difference." Maybe she's right. No one will ever love me anyway. You could always try though... Calories are troublesome anyway. Maybe I will.

"Oh, look at you with your little boyfriend! Little Satanist." Maybe I do like girls... But you don't though! I could....

"You only got an A because you study instead of hanging out with your friends. Oh, wait! You have none!" Maybe I should sneak of to more parties... No! Think of your future! I'll only have one of I can keep up a social life. Like that ever helped anyone! You don't even like those types of people. Why do you want a social life anyway? Because they do....

That kind of thing. The kind of thing that results in identity crises. The kind of thing that leads to depression. The kind of thing that causes family problems and real social insecurity. The kind of thing that will only ever bring you health issues.

A/N On the one hand I hope you didn't understand what I was talking about. On the other hand, it seems unlikely that you wouldn't. I hope you had some kind of connection with this. I know it was weird, but I'm tired and really needed to write something.
Vote, comment, whatever else.
