chapter 37

Louis POV

I sigh and let myself fall on the couch and stare at the ceiling. Everything is messed up nothing goes as planned. When i imagined all this, Alice would have forgiven me everything and we would be happy together, but no everything just falls apart. My thoughts are disturbed by the ring of the doorbell. I reluctanly get up and too the door. I peek through the peekhole and see too policeman in uniform. Fuck we're screwed I let out a big breath to calm myself and open the door. "Hi sir what can i do for you?" i say as if i'm not nervous at all. "Are you Louis Tomlinson?" one of them ask "yes the one and only" i smile. "Do you know Niall Horan?"  What has that fucker done now "um yes" i say suspicious. "We're here to inform you that he has had a car accident. He crashed his car against a tree he was driving too fast and was intoxicated" one of the officers tells me. "How is he now?" i ask quietly as guilt washes over me "the ambulance brought him to the saint-Marie hospital" i nod and the policeman wishes me a good day and walk off. I close the door and let myself slide down against it as the tears one for one start streaming down my cheeks. This is all my fault if i didn't lash out to him he wouldn't went out to drink and wouldn't crashed against that fucking tree. I get up and and roughly dry my tears with the sleeve of my sweater. I walk out of the hallway and look where Zayn , Harry en Liam are i hear noise come from the kitchen so i go to it. They are sitting on barstools "um hey guys" i say quietly. "Have you been crying?" Harry ask worried "well maybe he has finally realized what he puts Alice through" Zayn snaps. "Niall crashed his car against a tree" i say looking at the floor. "What?!" they all shout together "you're kidding right?" Liam asks. I sadly shake my head and say "he drank too much" "where is he? i need to see him" Liam panicks "he's in the saint-Marie hospital i don't know what he has" i say "let's not waste time and go over there" Zayn says. 

The drive to the hospital is deadly quiet i guess we're all afraid of what we might see or hear. We pull up on the parking lot and get out of the car. Zayn walks over to the front desk and asks "Hi i'm a friend of Niall Horan could you please tell me what room he is in?" "let me check" the lady says typing things on her computer. "Mister Horan is still in the surgery room if you want you can sit there and wait" she says pointing at a space with all chairs. "What injuries does he have?" he asks "i can't tell you that i'm sorry" she says not looking up. Zayn sighs and we walk to the chairs and go sit on it. We wait and wait and wait and after what seems to be an eternity A doctor finally walks over towards us. "Are you the friends of mister Horan?" "yes" we say together " we're done operating him we had too fix his knee but he's gonna have to rehabilitate a long time and we're not sure if he'll be able to walk normaly again, after that he had nothing else major he should consider himself lucky" he says like it's the most normal thing in the world "can we see him?" i ask "no i don't think it will be a good idea besides he will be sleeping until tomorrow" he says. We nod and he walks away "let's go home guys we'll visit him tomorrow" Harry says and puts his hand on my back. The car ride is quiet , too quiet i have too much time to think about everything. I'm more than relieved when the car pulls up the driveway I jump out the car and storm inside i just want to forget everthing. When i'm on the stairs i hear Zayn Shouting "Alice is still in the basement" i roll my eyes and shout back "so what she deserves it the unthankfull brat". I continue my way upstairs and go in my room and let myself fall on my bed. Not much later Zayn walks in and sits next to me he takes a pack of sigaretts out his pocket and a lighter he offers me one I take one and light it up oh god i needed this. "You know you can't keep being such an asshole too Alice because that's just gonna let her hate you more. She's just  gonna keep liking Jake more if you keep doing what you do. She'll make mistakes and you will too but that's how it works Lou. A relationship begins out of trust, communication, and friendship and so far you two don't have any of that. You will have to listen to her before you just start assuming things. And i know it's hard but i don't want too see her suffer any more you understand? Cause if you're gonna keep hurting her i'm gonna freaking take her and drop her off at Jake's place" he says. "You wouldn't" i say not believing him "ooh i mean everything i just said, now get her out the basement and apologise" i nod and get up and go downstairs
