~Caroline~

My husband was pulling me down the stairs when I came to the realization that there was a fine line between husband and wife, and the lifestyle we chose to live by. We were halfway into the hallway when I pulled my hand out of his and halted. "I don't want to go down there, Sol." And it wasn't me just trying to be a brat. Sol turned to me and frowned. I suppose I couldn't blame him. In any other situation, I would have followed, silently. I crossed my arms and took a few steps back when he reached for my hand again. "No." I snapped.

"Caroline-" His eyebrows went down and he almost looked flabbergasted. Well, good for him. I wanted to be his wife right now not his submissive.

"I think we just need to talk about things, not have a fucking meeting with your sex toys. I know, I have an attitude but we can discuss it like a normal, married couple." Not that I didn't enjoy them...or him. Going down there would mean this whole discussion would end however he wanted it to and then it would be forgotten about. My opinion did matter.

"You mean you would like to argue about things? And In case you haven't notice, I'm not normal, baby." Sol planted his feet to the floor and crossed his arms. He was packing some serious guns under that shirt. His stare was hard, body stiff. He looked so bothered by this and I wanted to shake my head.

"You're not normal. You shut me down and then drag me to your little dungeon."

"Dungeon?" The laugh that came from deep inside of his chest was like a smooth tune. It's like the only way he knew how to resolve an issue was to tie my ass up.

"I don't like her. You have control over so many things in your life; your company and me. Don't pretend like you can't do anything about her..."

"So I should stop partnering with her?" He asked and the look he gave me said there had to be another option. Not working with Stella would lose him thousands of dollars, I knew that. I wasn't asking for that.

"No, but you need to tell her to be more professional and more respectful, especially when your wife is around." Literally, if I didn't have so much self control I would have broke that bitches fingers for touching my man. She had crossed a line, a line that Mrs. Watson hadn't even crossed. Imagine that, and I had punched her in the face for less.

Sol's entire demeanor softened then and he came to me, pulled me in close to the place that I loved to be; his arms. "You're right. I'm sorry and I will fix it." It was a promise. For a minute we just stood there, in the dark hallway of our home. The erection he was spurting was sooooo conspicuous and just because he said he was sorry didn't change the fact that I was exhausted. The drinks I'd had at the event had worn off and if I didn't get some Advil A-S-A-P I was gonna have a horrible migraine.

"I'm going to bed. I'm tired." I finally said quietly. When I looked up into his face it was obvious he wanted to argue that but all he did was nod...and then leaned down to kiss me. It was beautiful, just like all of our kisses and when it ended I pulled away and headed for the stairs. I was not surprised when the door to his study closed seconds later.

I had to go out of town for the day. I didn't want to wake you. I love you.-S

I had managed to crawl out of bed before noon the next day. It was the first day in so long that I actually didn't have a damn thing to do; besides let the pull guy into the backyard when he showed up after three and a few loads of laundry. I was so gonna binge watch Shameless today and wine would be my companion.

It was dark and it was an adventure moving around in the room to find the light switch. It really was so different from the condo.

The curtains were a deep shade of crimson opposed to white. The huge bed that was catty corner on the furthest end of the room was messy from being used. The heavy duvet was red and gold, matching to throw pillows and the golden sheets beneath were silky and amazing. The thick wooden headboard was beautifully designed.
