Chapter 1
Annabeth's P.O.V.
September 14th, that's today's date. It's the day where we mourn and beat ourselves up over what happened on this day so long ago. This is because, 500 years ago on this day, Percy Jackson, the greatest demigod hero of all time was wrongly killed. No, he was not in a battle and got killed by a monster, nor did he sacrifice himself to save or a friend or become a casualty of a war. He was killed by us on accused treason which, turned out to be false. I flinched and tears came to my eyes as I remembered that fateful day.
~~~~~Flashback~~~~~
I glared at him as I stood with the other demigods at the back of the throne room of Olympus, twenty feet away. I was furious, at the same time, hurt. How could he do this to us, to me?! After all that we'd been through? As if sensing my anger and hurt, Daniel, Percy's younger brother, wrapped his arms around my shoulders. I looked up into his hazel brown eyes, mesmerised by the sheer beauty of it, and relaxed, leaning onto him.
"Perseus Jackson!" Zeus bellowed. I turned to look at the gods as the meeting started. "You have been accused of aiding the enemies of Olympus during the second Titan war and the second Giant war, do you deny it?" Zeus thundered as everyone in the room, except a certain few people who stuck by him, glared at him. Instead of answering, Percy just stood there staring at everyone with shock, tears rolling down his face, which unnerved me. Are we even sure he did all those immoral things? I thought to myself. I mean, this IS Percy, he would never betray his friends just to save his own skin. Besides, his fatal flaw is personal loyalty. Furthermore, he was the one who contributed and sacrificed the most in both the wars. I reasoned with myself.
As I was internally arguing with myself, Daniel leaned down to my ear. "I saw and heard him conversing with Gaia with my own eyes and ears. He is a traitor. He is not the Percy you fell in love with before. He's a changed person." Daniel assured me. He sounded so sincere, honest and confident that he is correct that I believed him.
Now that I think about it, Percy had seemed a lot different nowadays. He did go Camp Jupiter. Maybe being there changed him form how he was to what he is now. With that thought, I turned back into the meeting.
" I deny it. I didn't do anything wrong and I know it." Percy said defiantly, looking up and staring at Zeus.
Daniel grimaced in disgust. "Listen to him. I'm disgusted that he would lie like that.". He spat and I looked down at the floor before looking at Percy, feeling a wave of guilt at his miserable stature.l
" Enough of your lies!" Zeus bellowed, lightning going off, making Percy flinch a little, not visible if you aren't looking carefully.
"We will be passing judgment now. All in favour of keeping Perseus alive?" Zeus said, saying Percy's name with disgust. At that sentence, Artemis, Apollo, Poseidon, Hermes and Aphrodite raised their hands. "All opposed of him living?" With that, Zeus, Hades, Ares, Hephaestus, Hera, Dionysus, Athena and Demeter raised their hands. 5 to 8. "The decision is has been made. Perseus Jackson, you will die. Any last words?" Zeus finally asked.
" Zeus, you will not harm my son!"Poseidon's loud voice shook Olympus.He raised his trident to attack Zeus, but his rival and my mother, Athena summoned her spear to parry away his trident's attack on her father. Ares flashed beside Poseidon and held him down, together with shadows and grape vines holding him down, together with those who opposed against Percy's death.
