"Vanessa!" My mom had yelled from the living room, her voice echoing through the empty hallways of our house.
"Huh!" I yelled back, my eyes locked on my phone scrolling down out of boredom.
When I didn't get a response I groaned and placed my phone down, got up from my bed then walked out of my dark room full of nothingness.
As I walked down the stairs, I saw a glimpse of my mom in front of the house with my father talking to a man in a suit. I grew confused.
What are they up to now? I asked myself bitterly.
I cleared my throat to let them know I was there, they all stopped talking and looked at me. Like I grew another head.
"So mom, why did you call me down anyways?" I placed both my hands inside my hoody pocket and tried to act all calm.
"Oh, yes!" My Mom had said, like she just remembered why she called me down. "We were going to tell you some good news and bad news." I mentally groaned, I hated these type of stuff.
"Bad news first." I told them before they could even speak another word. They both blinked along with the man behind them.
"O-Oh, uhm.. How do we out this.. Our house is being taken away." My father said, stuttering as he did.
"And the good news is, your aunt had offered her house to us because she's not using it anymore. But her son is there so we'll be living in with him from now on. We're moving there next week." my mom was rather cheerful telling me this, like she was tired of our old place.
"Yeah yeah whatever, I guess I'll go now?" I pointed the stairs with my thumb with a monotone face. "S-Sure dear, go on ahead and pack." My father said.
I just nodded even though I wasn't packing just yet, I was going to sleep it all off then pack up. I waved shortly after my nod, then as lazily as I can be I climbed the stairs. Thinking to myself.
Weren't we fine just staying here?
And why the fuck would people take our house away! My dad payed for all of this shit. Ugh.
I got back to my room, shutting the door with a soft slam. I looked around and my lazy brain got triggered again.
I'll pack up tomorrow. I grumbled as I sat down on my bed, grabbing my laptop from my night stand.
I logged in and saw that my cousin was online, I sighed.
Vanessa: heya.
Brian: what's up?
Vanessa: have you heard?
Brian: about what? Don't tell me your pregnant?
Vanessa: asshole, oh god no. We're moving.
Brian: what a relief your NOT pregnant.
Brian: ...
Brian: WTF your moving?!
Brian: where?! When?! Why?! Holy shit! How are taking all of this in?!
Vanessa: calm your ass, Yes we are moving. Where? To your place. When? In a week. And why? That's what I don't know yet. And HELLO, how can anyone take it easy?! Of course I'm fuming angry about moving. Geez.
Brian: so your moving here? It was moms Idea wasn't it? Ohgod. It would have been better if it was just you, but your parents too? You do know I'm a wanted criminal right? I don't want you or your parents to get involved in my shit.
Vanessa: believe me, we won't. Welp, gotta go pack a.k.a sleep it off till morning. Bye asswipe.
I placed my laptop down, sighing as I laid down on my mattress. I looked up at my ceiling and decided to go to sleep, yes sleep would to the trick.
I was about to close my eyes when suddenly a beep ringed around my room, and I sure was about to get pissed when I find out that this beep isn't even important.
I grabbed my phone from beside me and opened it, it was a text from Brian. I groaned. What does he want now?
asswipe(brian)
|heyyy I don't know your parents number, but my mom asked me to tell them about the school you are attending. Mind lending me their number?I rolled my eyes, this guy is helpless. I just texted him the number before throwing my phone away from me on the bed. I closed my eyes and finally I was going to get my sleep that I haven't had in 3 days...

Morning finally came, It was already summer vacation so I had all the time in the world. Um, maybe not this week because All I have to do is pack my stuff and try to not fall asleep again.
"Okay V, you can do this!" I said with a lazy determined face, as I began to pack all the stuff that I would be needing in the boxes my mom had given me before I even woke up.

11:30am
FINALLY, I was done. It took me long enough, or maybe I was just sleep packing all this time? I shrugged as I placed the last box on the corner where I put all of the other boxes.
Looking around at my now empty room, I decided to go down and relax. Just as I was walking down the stairs, I heard a very familiar voice talking to my parents I peaked just to see if I was right and I was.
Brian was here, and He looked happy to see my parents but in reality he doesn't want anyone all up in his shit.
He then turned his head and he saw me, he looked at me worriedly and nodded and I knew already what he meant.
"Okay Auntie and Uncle I better go and finish up a few more loading over by the truck, just go and meet me there." He hinted and I rushed to the door after that, not minding if my parents thought I was suspicious.
I met up with Brian by the truck, He looked worried and angry. "We need to talk." He says, a serious and deadly tone, laced his very sentence.
"If I could, I'd never let you go to Hillwood creek. Some assholes had been rampaging the town and the school, they were looking for someone named 'Boss' for some goddamn reason. I don't want you to be involved, or your parents. My gang had been..." he took a few breaths in and out. "Involved in such childish acts, they had even named themselves as the 'Delinquents' at school and challenged anyone they encounter... so promise me this."
I nodded for him to continue.
"Stay away from them, and stay like the sweet innocent little cousin that I knew... please."
If only you knew. "Of course Brian, let's continue shall we?" I asked referring to the untouched boxes in front of us and the truck, he nodded and we both grabbed a box.
What he said hit me, should I really avoid them? I was utterly confused, as we placed the boxes inside the truck he promised me he'll protect me.
I'm being protected, from them.
I trusted Brian if this is what he wants, I trust him enough to let him push me around like that. I do, but something inside me doesn't want him on my back all the time...
I do have a secret after all...
