Working hard has never felt so good! Well, it may sound like I'm out of my mind, but I'm serious! It's never normal when I get an 100% on my vocab quiz, get to work with Brandon, and- Hold up, I'm going waay too fast. Let me back up a bit.
----
During English, everybody was obviously so bored during class, so like usual, because our teacher noticed that we were bored, he pulled out a dictionary. "Vocabulary pop quiz," he announced as everyone groaned. I almost imagined some people's faces taking on a sickly hue.
However, the last time I took a vocab quiz, I failed it, so I was freaking out a little. However, this time, I was actually kind of prepared since I had read some of the vocab words since my mom forced me to when she went to have her hair permed and I had nothing to do. My English teacher always has his routine for pop quizzes. He would say what vocab words we had to use, and then we had to turn it into a paragraph or story or poem.
I was staring at my blank paper, freaking out, when I suddenly remembered the TV drama I watched the night before, so I began to write furiously.
The felon ended up cleaning the sediment off of the bathroom floor. However, as he excavated through the grime, he discovered a key. The key seemed endemic to Asia, but it seemed to fit the lock in the cell. He tried to sneak out incognito and was almost there, but he accidentally ran into a guard. The felon tried to maintain his composure and smiled charmingly, but the police officer remembered the felon committing perjury in the court when he claimed that he did not know the flora was actually drugs. "You lout," the police officer quickly apprehended him, not abating his grip as he quickly ushered the felon back to his cell where he relinquished the key he found in the bathroom.
I was feeling good when I turned it in, but as I got up to turn it in, somebody was tugging on my shirt hem. I didn't feel it at first and turned my paper in, but when I turned back to go to my seat, I saw it was Zoey. She had a pale look on her face as she mouthed:
"You forgot to write your name on your paper."
I paused, the realization slowly coming upon me, then I dashed back to the front desk. Thank God for great friends like Zoey! I silently thanked her and made a mental note in my head that I owed her in the future.
Lunch came quicker than I had expected, but Jadyn didn't come to sit with us. "I wonder where she went," Chloe tapped her chin but shrugged.
"Maybe she's busy," Zoey's mouth was full of grilled cheese when suddenly someone bumped her from behind as they walked past. "Ewww!!!" she stood up, obviously mad since that person had made her knock over her juice and grilled cheese onto her new jean skirt! "Hey!" she whirled around, angry.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!" a boy we were unfamiliar with was carrying some books and a Superman lunch box. "Are you okay?"
"Y-Yeah," Zoey blinked blankly at the boy, lowering her voice. "Sorry for raising my voice," she quickly apologized.
"Oh, I've never seen you around. You must be new, right?" Chloe piped up, being the courteous girl she is.
The blond boy smiled, nodding. "Yeah, I'm Christas Edelstein, year seven. I transferred from-"
"-Germany, yeah, yeah, move on, Chris," a girl suddenly pushed past him, seemingly in a hurry.
Christas sheepishly grinned, rubbing the back of his head. "Haha, yeah, and that's my cousin Angela Vargas. She's from Italy and is also in year seven."
