Quicksilver (Adopted By Emerson Barret)

Safe- An unfamiliar feeling

I woke up sometime later to Emerson picking me up. I looked over and Remington and he had my bag in his hand. I waved my hand in Emerson's face trying to get his attention. "Oh hi your awake!! Would you like me to put you down?" I nooded and he gently put me down. I thanked him and just shrugged like it was no big deal. I walked over to Remington. 'I can carry my bag'  I signed. He just shook his head. "No, it's okay I don't mind carrying your stuff. 'You sure?'  I asked. He just nodded and went to open the front door. I stayed back and waited for Emerson, he caught up and he took my hand. Again I flinched but I did not pull away. We walked up the steps to the house. He opened the door and I saw Remington on the couch next to Sebastian and Stephanie. I quickly hid behind Emerson, seeing as he is the one I feel the most safe with. Honestly I don't know what safety is. I've never felt it before. Emerson guided me to the couch across from Sebastian and Stephanie. I hid my face in his side. "Aww she's so cute and shy!!!" Sebastian exclaimed. Emerson nodded his head in agreement. "So whats your name cutie?" Stephanie asked. I just looked up and shook my head. "She's mute." Explained Remington. They nodded their heads in understanding. I grabbed my ipod and started to type. 'My name is Silver.' They nodded nodded. "Well Silver, welcome home. I am your Aunt Stephanie and this is your Uncle Sebbi." She said. I nodded and pointed to my shirt. 'I kinda already know who you guys were' I wrote. Sebastian face palmed and I let out a small laugh. "It's almost 12:00pm is anyone hungry?" Emerson asked. Stephanie, Sebastian, and Remington nodded while I shook my head. "You don't have to eat anything now, as long as you eat something small by tonight." Emerson explained. I nodded and they guys started to talk about where they wanted to eat while Stephanie and I just sat there. "Looks like were going to Texas Roadhouse!" Remington yelled. Everyone started to grab their stuff so I stood up. I put in my earbuds and started to listen to 'The Black' By Asking Alexandria. I turned it the rest of the way up and followed everyone out to the car. Emerson once again grabbed my hand. We walked to his car and Stephanie and him sat in the back with me. Before I knew it we were on our way to the restraunt.

When we got to the restraunt it was around 12:30. Remington came up behind me and put me on his shoulders. I let out a small laugh and started to hum along to the song I was listening to (Na Na Na My Chem) I drummed along on Remingtons shoulders. I looked over at Emerson and he was taking a video. I laughed and flipped him off. He mocked hurt and dramatically fell onto the floor. "Ouch! That hurt my ego." He said. I laughed and went back to what I was doing. Before I knew it I was getting tooken off of remingtons shoulders and was in Emerson's arms. I out my head on his shoulder and just sat like that. The song changed and I just sat there. We walked through the doors and the first thing I noticed was the peanut shells on the ground. Emerson put me down and grabbed my hand as a waiter led us to our table. I sat between Remington and Emerson while Stephanie and Sebastian sat across from us. Sebastian cracked a peanut and offered it to me. "Have you ever tried a peanut?" He asked. I shhok my head no and he put it in my hand. "Wait! What if she is allergic?" Emerson asked. "Then we will take her to the hospital." Sebastian replied. Before Emerson could stop me I put it in my mouth and started to chew. It actually tasted really good. After a couple minutes I wasn't having any sort of reaction so I ate some more. The waiter came back to get our drink orders. Emerson and Stephanie got Rootbeer, I got Mtn. Dew, and Sebastian and Remington got Dr. Pepper. The waiter nodded his head and walked off. "So Silver, how old are you?" Stephanie asked. I typed 15 into my Ipod and showed her. She nodded and looked at my Ipod. "You like My Chem?" I nodded. I went through all of my music and showed her. She gave me a happy look and leaned back in her seat. The waiter came back with our drinks and I took a drink. "Does everyone know what they want to eat?" She asked. Everyone basically ordered the same thing. Except me, seeing as I didn't get anything.

I played games on my ipod while everyone else sat and talked. I took a drink and sat back in my seat. I was really tired, I didn't get much sleep last night because I had a really bad dream. I leaned my head on Emerson's shoulder and looked through my music. I put on 'Sing By My Chem' and hummed along to the lyrics. "Sing by My Chemical Romance?" Remington asked. I nodded and showed him my screen. He smiled and went back to talking to Sebastian and Stephanie. The waiter brought their food and I just sat there. The smell of food alone made me want to puke. I watched as the guys ate their food and took small sips of my soda. At some point I must have fell asleep on Emerson and he picked me up. When I woke up we were back in the car except this time Stephanie was driving. I slowly drifted back off to sleep. I woke up to Remington carrying me this time until he handed me over to Emerson. And for once I think I feel safe. Like not just cuddly safe, but I feel safe with Emerson and Remington
