Chapter 1

Splish splash

I walk down the streets, listening to the water fall from the sky and hit the ground.

I walk slowly, uneager to get back home, savouring the soothing sounds of raindrops.

As I reach my doorstep I take a big breath readying myself for the screaming and yelling I'm about to hear.

I open the door to hear arguing as always. I walk into the kitchen to see my orphan parents, Finn and Remi, screaming at eachother again.

"Hello?" They were to busy arguing to see me walk in.

"Ari!" Remi barely slurs out, she's obviously taken something.

"What" I almost roll my eyes but I stop myself because I know what would happen.

"Why are you so interrupting, can't you see we're having a conversation!" She gets mad really quick and it scares me.

"More like a contest to see who's the loudest" I say under my breath but instantly regret it.

"What was that?" Finn blurts out with the most firm scariest voice.

"Nothing" I say so quickly I couldn't even hear it come out my mouth.

I'm so glad they didn't hear.

"Your blocking the stairs to my room, again" I say trying not to sound irritated.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Her mood just changed completely, it's like she changed into a different person.

As they move out of the way I quickly run upstairs to my somewhat save spot.
And of course they start fighting again.

As I sit down on my bed my phone buzzes. It's my best friend/only friend Damion.

You get out the wolfs den yet?

He's the only one I've ever told about how Remi and Finn treat me.

Barely made it out alive.
I reply

Sometimes Damion treats the fact like it's not a serious thing, like having two orphan parents who are always drunken and treat you like a piece of shit on the ground is funny.

But I guess I can put up with it. I would really like to have at least one friend.

Meet me at the spot tonight?

Me and Damion have this spot in between a bush and a tree where we meet up pretty much every single night.
But since I can't make my way out of the house alive during the day, I always have to sneak out after Remi and Finn are passed out.

Yessir Dami, 10:00?

Perfect.

I fall back into my bed. I wonder how my life woulda been like if my parents hadn't been on that crashing plane or never even went to Hawaii.

I keep wondering what my life would be like if I hadn't gotten stuck with these lousy half-ass orphaned parents.

Before I know it, it's 9:50.

I peak out my door.
Quietness.
I guess they fell asleep. I slowly creep down the stairs.
I look around and see nobody.
I grab my bag, jacket and umbrella.
I close the door and am now on the steps to my house peering at the rainy night sky.
